Large groups of gazelle

Do they often move in large groups - and if so, how many normally travel together?

Gazelles do tend to congregate in large, loosely connected social groups - anywhere from a small handful to several hundred. You can see here that there are both Grant's and Thomson's #gazelles in this picture. These species are frequently seen in mixed groups, which is a little puzzling because they seem to compete for the same food. Understanding how different herbivores interact is one of the research questions we're hoping to answer with Snapshot Serengeti.
