Ostrich Protuberance

    The ostrich in this picture has what almost looks like a volleyball dangling from its rear end. I look at other pictures of ostriches and they have clumps of feathers, but this actually looks like it has more substance than that. What is it?

    Its just the tip of the tail feathers, just a strange angle I guess
