Do hyena hunt zebra?

  • cyzaki by cyzaki

This looks like the hyena is after a zebra, but the zebra doesn't seem to care (or notice). Is this because there's no threat?

That zebra doesn't look too concerned. But I've seen videos of hyenas attacking zebras where the zebras just stand there.
And yes, Hyenas do attack zebras, but I've never heard of them doing it alone.

This looks to me Like the hyena is actually running away towards the camera. Put them in a sequence which makes sense and it turns suddenly and heads lower right. I would think it is moving with a pack or running from the zebra

That's an awesome sequence! It's true that hyenas like to eat zebras, but would need to be in a large group to pose much of a risk. And zebras have sharp hooves that can deliver a pretty solid kick -- enough to make any lone hyena wary.
