Sprint

What an impressive #sprint! What would be hunting these in the middle of the night? Or is it just #scared?

Most of our larger carnivores are primarily nocturnal - lions, leopards, and hyenas. So it could be running from them -- or just spooked

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info!

By the way, this is obviously using some kind of flash for the camera, is that UV or IR or visible? I'd imagine visible light would spook the poor thing even more 😃

We used infrared for our first season. But you can see that the night shots are pretty blurry as a result (this image, for example). So in subsequent seasons we switched to an incandescent flash. You'd think it might scare the wildlife off, but we haven't found that to be the case.
