Is that thing around her neck a tracking device? Or is it hurting her? She seems a bit upset.

Looks like a radio collar, used for tracking, not usually painful, I don't think. (like the collar your dog or cat wears, only with more electronic bits) There's something just outside the frame she's annoyed at...probably another lion.

The Serengeti Lion Project currently monitors 24 lion prides in Serengeti, with one #radio-collar per pride. The collars don't seem to bother the lions - she's probably snarling at another lion out of the photo. you can learn more here: www.lionresearch.org
