Snapshot Serengeti Talk

Ok scientists...this one has me the most stumped

  • CaitStevens by CaitStevens

In the first shot, I thought it was a branch. I marked it a rodent, because I couldn't see where anything had a tail like this, so I figure may be it is a mouse or perhaps a reptile tail right up against the camera lens. Or its i dinosaur tail. Please enlighten me on this one.

Hm, ok. It just seemed to move more fluidly than if the impala was just bobbing its head. But perhaps a trick of the camera.

Pressing play might not play it sequencial. Often, #2 is the first picture and it goes. 2-3-2-1-2-3-2-1 so often it looks like the animal is moving backwards for one frame 😛

Yep it's an impala. It's really tricky sometimes when the images are out of sequence like this 😃

Long, lyrate horns, it has to be an impala.
