Fox/Mongoose/Something

  • Irritator by Irritator

The tail is too fluffy and the fur too smooth for it to be a mongoose, but it doesn't have the black tail end or the big ears of a fox. No stripes or spots of any kind either, so not a Genet, Civet, Honey Badger or Zorilla. What is that thing?

Actually, I think it might be a white tailed mongoose. That has a bushy tail and fairly thick coat, just like this creature. I've seen a couple of other threads where a similar looking creature has been identified as a white tailed mongoose, and one of the scientists was saying that they see quite a few of them.

    It is a mongoose, a white-tailed mongoose.

Thanks for the answer, that must be it! Shame this cute critter wasn't included in the default list.
