Insects or birds?

There's a huge flock or swarm of something actively moving here. Can anyone tell?

They may just be flies. In late wet season, March/April, the migration is accompanied by swarms of little flies that gather around any animal. If you're out there you can have 30-40 of those little flies all kissing your face at once. Eww!
