Thomson Gazelle tail movement

  • ElinE by ElinE

In this picture, the gazelle's tails go from curled, to straight out to the side and back. All of the gazelles in this picture seem to be doing the same thing at the same time. Is it some form of communication or just the way they move their tails?

They use their tails as fly whisks - and sometimes they are just twitchy - either way they flick their tails around quite a bit!
