Apparently, anything up to 25% of the female tommies have distorted, wonky horns. One theory is that, because their horns aren't essential to either survival or mating, there's no selective pressure, so genetic mutations aren't killed out the way they would be if properly formed horns gave the animal an advantage in terms of survival and/or ability to rear young. So we see quite a few twisted, curly, etc horns.
