Whats up with the ground?

  From asking a weather question in another post, I was told it doesn't snow in the Serengeti. The ground looks like it could be covered in frost, or ash or something. Could someone explain, and are their any other captures similar to this?

  What a super lion! The pic is dated December which is when it starts to rain in much of the Serengeti. I think you're looking at wet or dewy grass reflecting the flash.

  That makes a lot of sense. Little spheres of water make decent retro-reflectors.
