Weird little horn

I'm worried about that little loopy thing on the gazelle's head. Is it s little horn that is growing in the wrong direction. What will happen - will it somehow right itself, or will the poor animal end up enacting some horrible gazelle version of the Lisa Simpson needs braces video?

About a quarter of female tommies have messed-up horns. One theory about why is that they're not under evolutionary pressure like the males are to have good functioning horns, so they can be wonky without affecting the females chances of living and reproducing.

What happens, though, if the horn loops around so it's growing towards the animal's skull? Does it stop growing in response to pressing against the skull?
