Young zebra's coat

The young zebra's coat appears shaggy, is this normal and if not what might be the cause?

Oh wow. Heh! I've noticed that the young zebras have a more furry coat than the adults, but it's usually all dry and furry and cuddly. 😃 Perhaps it's been raining? A furry coat would take longer to dry out than the smooth hair of the adult animals, I'd think (and the adult coat would be more likely to shed the water rather than absorbing it). It looks like a teddy bear that's been put through the wash. 😃 Of course the other possibility is that it's ill, but I'd say the fact that it's eating would tend to point to it being OK - in my limited experience, animals tend not to eat when they're ill - they just stand there, or lie down (depending on the type of animal) and look miserable.

Thanks for the explanation, I think it does look wet.
