Eland wearing wreath

Eland on right appears to be wearing a wreath. Do eland sharpen their horns by scraping against trees or dig up vegetation in the same way red deer etc do?

They sometimes rub heads against ground and pick up vegetation, but this appears to be a bull eland wearing the tuft of longer hair that naturally grows there. Females don't have this feature.
