Are there eyes in the tree?

  • mecurtin by mecurtin

Is there more than one animal here? The zebra is obvious, but is that light in the tree someone's eyes? and what about the gleam to the left of the tree?

A creature is visible at the same spot in ASG00168if . Could it be a medium-sized carnivore, such as #caracal? Or something else?

If it really was eyeshine in a tree and not a passing insect lit by the flash, it would likely be a bushbaby or perhaps an owl. Larger carnivores aren't in trees much at night.

The creature in ASG00168if doesn't look the right shape for an owl, and it seems awfully large for a bushbaby -- in the US I'd say it was the size of a racoon or a very well-fed opossum.
