Are statistics available?

  • zorglax by zorglax

I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place to put this question, but are there any statistics available regarding the numbers/percentages of counted animals? I came across a leopard a few minutes ago and wondered just how lucky I was.

Might be an interesting idea for a blog post, if it hasn't been done.

Leopards are cool no matter how common they are!

I am not sure as to the statistics on here, but they are difficult to sight in the wild. They have excellent camouflage and can disappear seemingly without trace in a matter of seconds.
I have spoken to one unfortunate lady who, on 12 trips to Africa, had never seen one leopard. It is often pot luck. On my last safari to the Masai Mara, I encountered leopards on every single game drive - weird !!
The cameras here will always have an advantage over we humans and it is great that they are able to capture some great shots.
