Identifying Distant Animals with Zebras

  • Miblo by Miblo

Besides the four nearest Zebras, there are at least two and maybe more animals here. I can't see the distinctive Zebra stripes on the animal directly in the centre – just to the left and background of the centre-most (definite) Zebra – so didn't feel confident in identifying it as a Zebra. Also, the other one or two animals to the left of centre are too distant for me to identify.

Could someone please offer some help or advice to a new spotter?

Just give your best guess. If all of the animals in the photo are the same species, then it is likely that the other animals farther away are also the same species. If they animals are so far away you can't even tell if they are animals, then don't worry about it. For this image, I would have entered 7 zebras. Other spotters might put more or fewer, but that number is fine.
