Hatrebeest?

  Is this a hartebeest's tail? I've seen tons of shots of their bellies and legs, but somehow none of tails!

  Yes, I'd agree with that. Hartebeests tails have "feathers" of dark hair from quite high up, getting thicker as you go down the tail, whereas Eland have smooth tails with a distinct tassel of dark hair at the end.
