Is it a new-born buffalo? A wild cat? A crocodile? A lump of wood?

There's a buffalo facing away from the camera, on the left, and just in front of it there seems to be something lying, or slinking, on the ground. You can see an eye shining, and what looks like its body stretching out to the right. Any ideas?

I went on a quick hunt of other images from that date/time and it seems there were grazing wildebeest and zebra there...including some young wildebeest. I would venture that is a young wildebeest laying down to rest and can imagine those eyes in the background are others settling in.
This image in this post is at 11:36pm and at 11:30 they were all eating up:

Earlier images around 10pm showing them arriving w/ some zebra:

I bet you could find more! The original ended with sb7 and I did all the sb's 0-9 and a-z...when I started the sa's (0-9 and a-z) I was finding more.
Good luck!

You're right, there are young in http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ ASG000dsaj, so it seems very likely that this is one of them lying down.
By the way, how did you search for those images? I'm a bit of a newbie and haven't worked it out yet!Posted
