Young giraffe?

  • jcbrstege by jcbrstege

The leg looks very much like a giraffe with the small spots, but the tail looks a bit off to me

I can't see any spots on that leg - it just looks a general tan colour to me. My first thought is that it's a young wildebeest. They start out a much paler, reddish tan colour, and have a short, horse-like tail.

OK the shadow of the animal isnΒ΄t suggesting giraffe either. Thanks

I also had to classify this and had more or less the same thoughts as you (sans the spots).

I'm beginning to doubt my original opinion on this. πŸ˜ƒ

I did agree that the ankles looked very giraffe-ish, but the shadow, and the angle the tail seemed to be at (ie it appears to be attached to the animal not very far above what we can see), and the fact that some baby 4-legged animals have joints that are "too big" for their size (a bit like kittens and puppies have paws that are too big πŸ˜ƒ ), all inclined me towards it being a much smaller animal.

But those ankles are very compelling...

Your surmises are not at all unreasonable. The tail does indeed look somehow wrong πŸ˜ƒ
