Jackal or else?

  Jackals look like a foxy faced dog with a greyish fur back. Never seen one of these mongooses yet, cool

  Thanks for the clarification. I found it a real confusing picture. It seems as the mongoose has no stripes as well.

  There are about 6 different mongooses in Serengeti, and only the Banded has stripes. This guy is very distinctive with his white tail and black legs.
