I guessed wildly that the thing in the background with the glowy eyes is a #civet. What's in the foreground, though?

The animal in the foreground is a Thomson's gazelle, my guess would be that the one in the background is one, too.

How can you tell the foreground animal is a Tommy? It looks pretty nondescript to me ...

Height and shape of the body, the color on top, length of fur, it all looks like a Tommy to me. In the end there is always a bit of guessing with images like this. The answers of the various people that looked at it will reflect that. Any hard to identify images can then be checked out again by experts.
