Does a picure of an animal as "far away" as this qualify for a selfie hashtag? What else does?

Good question! I used to think a selfie meant a picture one takes of oneself, necessarily a closeup. As I understand it, the original request for selfies came from a joint project with Nat'l Geographic, and you know how good their pictures are. For animals, I interpreted the request as asking for really good closeups, preferably looking toward the camera. I don't find those often. That hartebeest could be cropped and certainly it's anexcellent picture, might be of interest to the NG ptoject.
But others seem to interpret it differently, perhaps any picture they like. Most of those I've seen others marking are poor quality pictures, certainly not for NG, perhaps anything that they like for any reason. I wish they'd use the "favorites" function rather than filling up the comments with selfie hashtags that aren't of use to anyone but themselves. I'm glad that's cooled down recently.
