    That is what I guessed, based on the colour. Very unusual photo! Glad to have got one right for once 😃 I had never heard of an Eland before visiting Snapshot Serengeti.

    They are fantastic animals - built like an ox but can leap like a deer. Not abundant in Serengeti, and I see more on SSS than when I am in the park itself! They figure prominently in South African prehistoric rock art, as they are huge and very good to eat.
