#Thompson's gazelle

  • awallen by awallen

I just classified a Thompson' s Gazelle. My observation and question is he had a bunch of black spots on his neck. Are these marks or some kind of insect or tick? There were about 25-30 of them.

Hi awallen, and welcome to help with this great project!

It would have been great to see the image, but with the description, those black spots on Thomsons-gazelle neck are most likely ticks/flies.

P.S. We can't see/don't have access to anyone's personal classifications. Thus please add always the image. Most of identifying-questions are best and easiest to ask in the blue comment-box below image, so answers can be given directly into image. That way helps also others best, who may identify the same image, when they easily see all comments below image. (Another option is to start a discussion with the links in right of image). You will see that blue comment-box, when right after classifying the image, you click 'Discuss'-button below image before 'Next capture'-button. Hashtags are for search of particularly interesting images in this project and used in some comments, but only when sure ID, not with questions/unsure ID.

If you like/need, and with a bit more work, you can also later find the images, you have recently classified, from your 'Recents'. On Classify-page, if you click 'Profile' (above the image), then 'Recents', you will see them. Then you can click the image and put the question in that blue comment-box. (It is useful to open that 'Profile' in a new tab, so you don't loose the image you are currently classifying). 😃
