So that's interesting...now I'm thinking on these. It's something moving fast during the flash during the exposure. I like the moth idea - some type of nocturnal bird? The spiralness of the motion is confusing to me...thinking of moth wings flapping and whatnot.

I found another one - similar. Mine looks like a bat pattern with the wings. I think the one we have here was just at a weird angle so it was difficult to match up flapping arms properly. Here is mine:

After finding one myself i've done some investigation, I think it is caused by insects....
Wikipedia has an article called Rod Optics about this sort of thing showing up in photos.

A light like this is always a mammal. All mammals have an area at this back of the eye which shines like this. You can just make out a head.

It is the bar with wave pattern in the second frame that the question is about, not the bright dot in all 3 frames.
