Might be a part of the camera's housing or something left by one of the scientist when doing maintenance work on the camera 😃

That's exactly what it is. The camera has been knocked out and is pointing up at the camera case -- which is mangled and sort of just pulled open. The brown leg-like things are the tree. sigh too many cameras have this fate!
