How can you tell if an animal is pregnant?

    I wonder with the last picture of hyena, cause their is what appears to be blood on the front paws of this Hyena, that it could be a very well fed belly. I've seen lions on many wildlife programs digesting a huge meal, bellies distended from gorging on a large creature the pride have brought down.

    Zebras are always well rounded but those shown here look pregnant. The wildebeest is a baby so no udders. With hyenas, a big meal is more dramatic than pregnancy. I'm sure the bloody one has meat rather than babies in that belly.

    Thanks! Ive been able to spot zebras by how large their bellies are and being more spherical and low slung. Also I've seemed to notice veins or something that show on the bellies.
