  We've been seeing streaks like this and determining they are bugs that are going very fast in the fraction of a second exposure. I can see it's between the hartebeest and camera as I can see the smudge across the horns.

  There are some really neat night bug shots b/c of the slower exposure and seeing wing flaps. A few were tagged as #ghost

  Another possibility for this one is that it's simply a loose piece of grass blowing across in front of the camera. The daytime shots usually have a short enough exposure to capture insects fairly sharply, unlike the night shots.

  /grins/ Yes, some of the bits and pieces that turn up in these shots can look weird, and occasionally downright bizarre! 😄
