what happened to this camera trap?

  I just got this image of wildebeest, but the image is obscured by something or other, something living in the camera trap, ants, spiders? or has something damaged it?

  Any or all of the above. I also hear hyenas are death to cameras. The scientists have some posts on this, check out the blog section!
