I guessed Corncrake. Head shape is right, and that's the only one in my guide whose head coloring really matched.

I asked a friend that was the bird keeper for many years at the San Francisco Zoo. Hs aid it is definately a crake, possibly a striped crake, but there's not enough of the body is showing, and what is showing is out of focus, so impossible to tell with any certainty.

What if you have something in the image that cannot be identified at all? There is something far away in an image. It could be an animal, it could be a vehicle. I hate to choose that there is nothing there. But i don't see an option that says there is something unidentifiable. Thanks for suggestions...
