It's one of the small antelopes. Which one though?

Could it be reedbuck, considering the shape of its back?

ears look too pointed, and have black edge, possibly Grant's

The black tip to the ears is indicative of impala 😃

So is it a young specimen?

  • tillydad by tillydad moderator

It does seem on the small side and so it may be young - it may also appear small because of camera angle and lack of comparative objects 😃

Grant's also have narrow black rim on outside of ear (see pic2 on classifying page) Impala has larger area both inside and out. 😕

Agreed re black rim,but to me image has clear black tip which Grant's lacks - see ASG0018kd7 .But I could be seeing it differently to you 😃

If it were a gazelle I think we'd see horns. Ears...are we seeing both ears aligned? I vote reedbuck
