Snapshot Serengeti Talk
Amazing! I actually tagged that one as cheetah.
Is that a cat (ear)? A bird? Or just the brush at the bottom of the capture.
Thanks for the info on the camera blip. Best take-away from the thread: There will be a season 11. 😃
Thought these were tommies at first. The rump is the give-away that these are #grants-gazelle. Just bad camera exposure-the cursed square!
How perfect is this classic #elephant shot. #selfie
Young #Baboon. (Plus I think 2 in the background)
Male #lion!
Wow. Never would have thought cheetah. Thanks for the tips.
I guessed genet. Maybe serval? How to tell?
Rats. I guessed reedbuck. Can someone point to distinguishing trait?
Eland?
I guessed grants gazelle.
Wow, sounds like an amazing story! Didn't realize you had experience. I'm only speaking from what I've learned watching #safariLIVE.
WOW! So what behavior do we attribute to the #thomsons-gazelle? I don't think any of them apply.
Ugh. I have a feeling I got this one wrong. Young buffalo?
I really thought it looked like a secretary bird so ID'd it as such.
Sure but in broad daylight, the lions would be the ones running away. 😃
#thompsons-gazell. But is that possibly a young one on the ground to the left?
Guessed reedbuck, but really not sure.
Three homo sapiens. One doing cartwheels. 😃
So cute! I also tagged the "human" (vehicle) in this pic. Is that what we are supposed to do?
#selfie
Pregnant #zebra?
No clue. I said wildebeest.
#aardvark!
Yep did that. Thanks for the ID.
A fine looking #topi
Don't know this bird.
Tagged as a cheetah. Seems to have cheetah ears. But yeah, could be leopard.
Possibly a kori bustard (left-ish, near horizon)?
Thank you! We have those at San Diego Zoo Safari Park. I should have recognized it. I see it now!
Lion or wishful thinking?
Looks like hair on that first frame. Maybe a wildebeest? Also, the mods say not to hashtag unless you're sure. You can edit your post. 😃
No idea.
Not sure which antelope this is.
Something moved the camera to nearly upside-down.
Anyone have an ID on this bird?
Sorry about the hashtag. Thanks. Edited.
#young #baboon
Gah. No idea. Something spotted in the foreground.
2 lion?
Lightened it up. Going with hyena.
#wildebeest #rut!
#jackal
Warthog?
#Kori!
#lion paw! I tagged it female. Is there a way to tell the difference btwn male and female paws?
#young #hippo
Wow. Didn't think eyes looked big enough for dikdik. Thanks.
Is this a duiker?
Didn't seem to have the body-shape or tail of a cheetah but also didn't seem to have the rosettes of a leopard. I went with young leopard.
Vulture or "other"?
Pretty sure we have an #ostrich.
Some kind of canine. Not really sure on this one. Experts? What is this? NM. I see moderator says jackal. I put as BEF. Oops. Thanks.
#baboon !
A bunch of impala or grants gazelle in the background but what is that in the foreground?
Yay. Glad I guessed right. I called this 3 #lion.
#lion
Hyena?
Tagged this as nothing ... then I saw something. Not sure what it is though. ideas?
Hippo? Rhino?
Tough one. Tagged it as a #wildebeest.
