Snapshot Serengeti Talk
Looked like something there but couldn't tell what, other than what it was not (antelope, primate, etc.)
Just a guess based on an apparent lack of hair or fur.
Impala is just a wild guess. Too blurry and too little of the animal showing to know what it is.
Think these are topi or hartebeest, but can't see well enough to be sure which. Head shape seems topi-like.
May be more than 4.
Looks like goats, but that is not an option available to select.
I have no idea what this really is.
Could be more than 6. Hard to distinguish individuals in this light.
Looks like maybe an elephant's trunk in the first frame, then something on the horizon. Guessed wildebeest but not confident of that.
Guessed wildebeest based on size, generally dark color and frequency of appearance in the photos I've looked at.
Guessed eland based on size, light color and tufted tail but not very confident in that guess.
Not sure of the two antelope towards the right and behind the zebra.
Hard to tell what this is based on the leg other than a small antelope.
Guessed Thompson's gazelle based on shape and frequency of occurrence in previous photos I've seen.
Not sure what this is. Looks like an extreme closeup of a hog-like snout.
Not sure if this is a Tommy or a Grants. Can see the sides well. Went with Tommy since they are more common in these images.
About a dozen antelope on the horizon; can't tell what they are
Looks like some sort of bird in the shade of the little tree.
Couple different species present but too far away for me to identify.
Another unidentifiable animal on the edge of the light. Antelope of some kind.
No idea what these are. 3 on the left and a different one in the grass on the right.
Brief glimpse of something's back, but no idea what.
Can't really tell what these are. Odds favor wildebeest or zebra.
Odd image. Possibly a mating pair? Wasn't sure so said only one was present.
Had trouble deciding if these were Thompson's or Grant's. Seem larger with longer head than Grant's.
An eagle? Really? Boy, my guess is out to lunch!
Guessed lion based on fur color. Not a lot to go on for this one!
Identity uncertain. Guessed Grant's gazelle based on apparent size and what looks to be a fairly wide black stripe on haunch.
Not really sure what that is. Guessed a zebra since what I can see is black and white.
Looks like a couple of males are fighting.
Not sure if that's a bird or a plane. In the second image it looks more like a plane. In the third, more like a bird.
Not really sure what the moving animal is in the background. Chose zebra as it is the whitest option.
The two birds seem to be shaped like kori bustards but not sure if they are large enough.
Just a bit of the rump to go on. Guess based on perceived height of the animal.
Not sure what the further back animal is but seems similar to the hartebeast in the foreground.
Several animals in the background but not sure if they are wildebeasts or not.
Looks like a tour bus but no idea how many are on it. Since it's moving there has to be a driver at least 😃
Silhouette of something in the lower right corner; looks birdlike to me.
I think I see a mane.
Another guess.
Wildebeest is just a guess. There's something moving on the left side, just not sure what.
Several animals in the middle ground (seen only in 1st photo of the series) of unknown species. Too far away to tell.
Can just see the edge of the head. Doesn't look quite right for either a cow or a buffalo. Could be a calf of either species.
No idea what that really is. Went with wildebeest just on probabilities.
Something on the right side but the flash turned it into a white silhouette. No idea what it is. Could even be someone's head.
There's clearly an animal there but no idea what. Far too close to the camera to tell anything.
Extreme close-up on the animal's side. Guessed it to be a wildebeest.
Looks like eyeshade in the middle of the photo but have no idea what animal it might be.
Not really sure what those animals are. Can barely see them near the horizon.
Likely several more wildebeest lost in the glare of the sun.
Large animal in the right quarter, rear to camera, switching its tail. Bigger than a wildebeest. Can't figure it out.
Not sure what this really is. Can't tell much through the glare.
The third frame appears to have the end of an elephant's trunk with the animal just starting to move within full view of the camera.
I have no idea what this is or even what part of the animal I'm looking at!
Just eye-shine from 2 animals. Another guess as to what they might be.
All I can see is eye-shine. Based on the apparent number of animals and the height, I guessed hyena.
Just a bit of tail to go on. Sparse hair but main part of tail at about the same level as the top of the grass.
Not sure what this is other than male, but certainly an unusual view!
Another unidentifiable. Only have a bit of the head to go on and its out of focus.
I have no idea what this (these?) is (are). Not even sure if it's one animal or two.
No idea what this animal is, however white image on right edge looks sorta like the tip of an elephant's trunk.
Identity very uncertain. Large, blocky, relatively light-colored animals on the horizon.
Not sure what this is. Deep in the shadows, can only see rear with any clarity. Small, grayish, can't see horns or head.
Not sure of identity since all I see is the rear end. Appears to have a longer tail than most antelope. Too light for wildebeest.
Guessed elephant as one seemed to be flapping ears like elephants often do.
3 large animals on the horizon; no idea what they really are but since most images have been of wildebeests, I guessed that.
Something moving near the horizon; might be a gazelle.
There's a small bird in flight in the first frame but no idea what it is.
Something's way out there moving. Might be a zebra but too far away.
Not much to go on here other than a part of a shoulder and horn tips.
There's something there but only have a small bit of very blurry brown image.
Identity very uncertain. All there is to go on is an ear and a bit of neck.
Identity uncertain. Something's lying on the ground at the middle of the left edge.
There are several animals in the background but not sure if they are wildebeests, zebras, both, or something else.
I see eyeshine, but can't identify what the animal(s) might be.
There's a large herd of dark animals in the background, but too far away to identify.
