Snapshot Serengeti Talk
who knows?
Buffalo? Who knows?
Lion? Just a guess.
I'm not certain of the waterbuck identification.
I actually don't know what this is, except that I'm fairly certain it's an antelope.
I'm not sure about this ID. The smooth bump is a puzzle. Is it a zebra eye socket/arch from an odd angle?
I think I missed two--maybe more--wildebeest, but I can't figure out how to undo my "no animals" selection.
Animal under the tree??--almost lion-like. But uncertain.
Probably scores more animals in background but I am not certain.
Probably wildebeest eyes.
just a guess
guess
Zebra ID is a guess
Eyes in background are likely more wildebeest
Eyes in background are likely more wildebeest.
Guess
Guessing on gender.
Dots on horizon are likely hundreds of wildebeest, but it's too far to be sure.
Guess as to species and number.
I have no idea what it is.
This doesn't look like the white-tailed mongoose in my Audubon Guide to African Wildlife, but I don't know what else it could be.
Looks like four vehicles moving in distance, but it's a guess.
guess---it might be safari vehicles
guess based on eyes
guess as to species
The form and rear quarter spots suggest serval to me, but it could be a cheetah.
eyes in background are likely more zebras
Guess.
Apparently reflections of eyes of several more zebras in background, but can't be certain.
Looks like a mane. I can't think of anything else with that sort of coat.
Guessing as to three animals in distance. They could be gazelles.
Guessing.
Clearly, animals are present at a distance. Species and number are guesses.
Guess, based on nature of hair and chin.
Great shot of wattled starling with its landing flaps down.
Not certain of ID, but shape and color suggest waterbuck.
The smaller animal could be a hartebeest instead of a topi. I ID'd as topi because of color but darker color could be caused by shadow.
This is a guess as to species. The nearest animal looks more like a zebra than anything else. All are moving left to right.
Profile looks most like a lion. Dark spots on backs of ears are interesting.
Unidentifiable animal moving in background.
Also a zebra. I hit "finish" too soon.
a guess--it could be hartebeests or gazelles also
probably wildebeest but could be buffalo
a guess
guessing
Unidentifiable
I think it's an impala but it might be a reedbuck.
Other animals in background--probably zebras.
Just a guess.
Zebras are a guess.
A guess both as to species and number.
Three unidentifiable creatures in distance.
Impala is best guess. Maybe hartebeest?
Animal present, but I can't identify.
Buffalo is best guess.
The bright reflection could be an animal, but it's hard to say what animal.
Not actually sure which herbivore.
unidentifiable eyes
Two of the animals might be zebras.
Best guess.
This secretary bird appears to be gathering nesting materials.
It looks more like a leopard tail than a serval tale. Definitely not cheetah because it isn't ringed.
Probably a wildebeest, but it could be a male lion.
I actually have no idea what the moving animal on the left is, but it could be a leopard. I wanted someone else to take a look.
I identified this as a (white-tailed) mongoose, but zorilla, civet, and ratel also occurred to me. But I think it's the mongoose.
This secretary bird looks like it is collecting nest-building materials.
