Snapshot Serengeti Talk
I checked no animal but there is a dark, very out of focus blob that is moving. I can't even guess about ID
Hard to see - there seems to be a square of tape or something over the lens of this camera
I probably undercounted. It's hard to see what all is in the distance.
#fail #black
Great #elephant
My first #aardvark! Whoop!
Camera pointed at the ground
#fail black
I'm guessing those grey lumps in the distance are #wildebeests
Excellent #genet
Looks like some kind of #heron to me
Anyone else think this is a #leopard?
#dustbath
Not sure what this is. Maybe a mongoose? Any ideas?
Brown #lizard - I probably would have missed it if it wasn't moving
#butterfly
Bird #oncamera
#oxpecker ?
#fail white
#wasp
#oxpeckers
#insect
#owl
Picture #fail #black
#zebra in a hurry. Wonder why...
Eye shine or stars?
#secretarybird showing off
#fire
Not sure if #thomson's or #grant's
Good sized bird in the tree - any ideas on ID?
Possible bird #oncamera
#Itchy #Thomson's by the tree
Correct #buffalo
#eyes - I can identify one zebra so I marked all of the eyes on the ground as zebra but I think there's something on the tree, too. No clue.
#camerafail
I'm king of th hill!!!! #serval
#bustard
#dragonfly
#eyes
Possible #hare ear in lower right corner of last image
Is this a young #wildebeest? The horns look wrong.
Mix of #tommies and #grants for a nice comparison
No clue... I wish we could look at images before or after.
Spotted fur #cheetah or #spottedhyena?
#dove walking up behind the Tommie
Looks more live a bird to me
Hhhhhair
Possibly an elephant, based on size and short, sparse air
Ohhh, great legs!
My first cape #hare
Definitely serval
Possible bird on the camera
White necked (I think) #bustard
Possible #stripedhyena
I think this is an extreme close up of a leaf
I can't quite tell, I can't enlarge images on my iPad. I labeled it a mongoose
#bird perched on the camera
#koribustard up close and personal
Legs!
#bird perched on camera
#babies and #wrestling adults
Crooked horn
Yes, some birds like to perch on the camera mounts.
Backlit and far away so I'm not sure of the species or count.
I'm ready for my close-up
Possibly #Grants, it seems like Impala prefer more trees around
Itch!
Too close to the camera. The gestalt suggests #reedbuck to me.
Someone has a baby bump.
After the #fire
Happy boy
Hard to find food after a #fire
Fire!
Thank goodness for the black heel. It let me identify this as an #impala
Peek a boo!
Hit finish before marking the #zebra. Again.
Looking at later images these are #ostrich
Is this close enough?
#stork
Two different types of #birds - a vulture and something smaller
Running #impala
I hope those are #flies and not ticks on the #buffalo
Guessed wrong. Previous image shows nice #impala
Image 3 shows sparring #impala
Looks like serval ears
Spotted cat messing with the camera.
Two #storks eating insects and mice fleeing the oncoming fire
I'm also thinking #jackal
Nursing baby #wildebeest
I think it's the lighting. I see lines that look like wrinkles but they don't appear to be scratches - just the normal ele skin
Missed this one by a mile! The next image clearly shows this is a #lion.
Given how close they are, and looking at the previous image, I think this is a leopard with her dinner.
Picked #buffalo because so many flies!
#bustard, black-bellied or Hartlaub's
#mongoose or #civet?
With a nicely backlit #oxpecker
Nope. The next few captures do not show any babies. Probably fertilizing.
Human grabbing the camera?
Looks more like a #wildebeest to me. Rhino legs are chunky. That belly tassel is characteristic to wildebeests.
Young male? Horns don't match with anything. #unknown
Newborn #wildebeest. Looks still wet from being born!
Once again I hit finished before I recorded everything. I wish there was a back option... Missed the #buffalo
Anyone I d the large bird?
#plant?
Yep. There are some funny shots when a camera is triggered inside a truck.
Face makes me think #topi but the horns don't match
A bird has perched on the camera. These are its #tailfeathers
I vote for giraffe legs. If you look at earlier (ending in "e" I think) or later you will see these aren't there so clearly not a plant
Or an out of focus plant...
At least 3 #zebra based on the number of legs
Large #bird on mound
Good sized #bird walking - ground hornbill?
Good call!
Oops, hit finish before I recorded the #zebras
Another #bird perched on the camera.
Serval (caracals don't have spots and genets are much lower to the ground and have proportionally smaller ears)
If you go to the next set of images (or the previous sets) you will see that this guy does move - he's apparently resting.
Buffalo and lions seem to be surrounded by flies a lot of the time.
Looks like a young warthog to me.
#dove
Large #bird - anyone know what this is?
I think this is the beard of a #wildebeest
Hi there!
#twin buffalo
Young male #lion. Gazelle aren't reacting bc he's relatively far away and clearly not hunting.
I see a rock but no animals.
Thx for the I D. The first image under bushbuck looks very different than this one.
#mystery #antelope/gazelle This isn't one of our options.
Cute young #zebra
Any ideas? Something is wayyyy too close to the camera.
Lots of #vultures, could there be a kill back there? (Looks like Ruppell's Griffon vultures)
Windy? Or is someone rubbing against the tree the camera is mounted on?
Hmmm... I'd guess hartebeest. The rump is pale but the rest of the animal is darker and I THINK I see hartebeest horns.
Yep, a Ruppell's Griffon Vulture
Definitely a young wildebeest, jackets would be much smaller.
Peek-a-boo #serval
Nice #oxpecker
Poor #lions and buffalo always seem to be surrounded by flies
#leopard tail?
At least one of the distant bird looks more like a vulture or raptor based on the proportions - long wings compared to the body size
#wildebeest sparring on the right
This #secretary bird appers to be collecting nesting material.
Is something spraying the camera or is this just a funny looking plant?
Nap time for baby #elephant
#dove?
Really loose skin. I guessed wildebeest but I'm not confident.
Great #eland
Yes! Good spotting.
If you look close you can see the base of the horns on top of its head. It faces to the right and is a wildebeest.
All I can see are the tusks but it looks like a big #elephant
Large flying #bird - id?
Gazelle on the right is probably fertilizing the grass.
I would go with buffalo - it's a bit big for a warthog
#weaverbird nests
#beeeater image 3
Sparring #buffalo
Yes, vultures! Possibly Ruppell's Griffon vultures. I wonder if there's something dead below the camera.
#civet ? In the deep grass
My, what a big #ear you have... Whatever you are...
I would guess buffalo - large, bulky but thin legs
Anyone get a closer look? Shaped like a zebra - color looks wrong...
Baboon bottom?
#legs
#bird? On the mound
Given the apparent large size it might be an elephant.
Fantastic #secretary bird
Lion? Yes. Cub? Probably not - she's kind of big to be called a cub. Adult lions will roll over and sleep on their backs if they feel safe.
The shadow knows... But I sure don't.

Image 3- yum, lunch!
That looks like an elephant tusk to me.
I wish there was a "I don't have a clue" option.
