Snapshot Serengeti Talk
Do you think any of those specks to the right near the horizon are more wildebeest?
What's that white spray/puff on the right side?
#human
I'm think serval since the spots are fairly sparse. #out-of-frame
The only thing I know of with downward pointing "horns" (tusks) is the elephant. 😉
Definitely my favorite hartebeest pic so far!
#insect
Neck and front leg of something, maybe a Grant's gazelle. #out-of-frame
#insects
Reedbuck, maybe? #out-of-frame
#bird in the background by that tree.
#spotted-hyena
A VERY close animal! #out-of-frame
#young. Any ideas whay this is?
#flowers
#rain
Maybe a hartebeest. #out-of-frame
#insect #out-of-frame This appears to be the neck of something, maybe Grant's gazelle guessing by the sharp collarbone.
...Now if only I could find that elephant in the little green hat. 😛
It all makes sense now! The end of the rainbow is in the Serengeti, and the gold is "gazelle gold". Dried grass for all!
That mass of wrinkles must be an #elephant. 😃 Also, #insects #flies.
Not gazelle or impala; wrong kind of tail. I think they are #hartebeest. Wildebeest have a more grey color. Image enhancement supports this.
Rump coloring reveals this as an impala. There's also something standing in the distance in the last frame, covered up in the first two.
#reedbuck. I thought it might be a dik dik but the black spot under the ear gave it away.
I think I see some #interaction on the right. #zebra
#young #wildebeest
I think I see long horns on the center one, suggesting impala, but the light-colored legs suggest Grant's gazelle. Or I'm wrong. :\
Seems like something's standing on the right near that tree, but I can't tell what.
#zebra Maybe some #interaction.
It's got a hint of stripes on the side; maybe a wildebeest? Any possibility it's an eland?
Maybe eland?
Complete mystery on this one. #out-of-frame
5 #zebra , a (probable) wildebeest, and an unknown in the background which I guessed as wildebeest
Three of... something. With a bit of image brightening the markings on the one on the right and the horns on the center one suggest impala.
...but I'm just going by the "field guide" examples. #out-of-frame #flies #insects
...and the only animals that seem to have that angular shoulder with the right profile, fur length, and color are those two.
I think most likely an impala, less likely an eland. The only part of an animal I've seen that fits this profile is the front shoulder...
Enigmatic shot. My money's on Zebra. #out-of-frame #outofframe #cropped
Hey, is that Pride Rock over to the left?
A really nice scene of #impala #interacting . I like how the one towards the center is turning back to watch the others butt heads.
#flies #insects #out-of-frame
#vehicle
#warthog
I might see an animal moving behind the grass, near the center. I guessed buffalo.
Possibly #overexposed ?
Pesky flies! #insects #flies
Pretty #flowers . 😉
#hippopotamus perhaps?
Looks like #buffalo. Maybe some #interaction between two in the middle
Looks like this one got tossed off its post!
Sort of a mystery here: What is that faint blur in the background? Compare to http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG000bd1t
#human #vehicle
#zebra and three or four of some brown grazer.
Watching itself pee?
Huh, looks like an extra picture from a different sequence snuck into this one.
#Stan #human 😉
This is my second picture of a person in a row! o.o The last one was Stan, maybe this one is too; can't tell. Different clothes. 😃
Hello Stan! 😉 You can read a little about this guy here: http://blog.snapshotserengeti.org/2012/12/11/welcome-to-snapshot-serengeti/
#elephant
Maybe Topi? I'm fairly stumped on this one.
Creature on left is a zebra, as revealed by brightening the image.
Looks like a Hartebeest
Thompson's Gazelle, perhaps?
#buffalo
#wildebeest
Some guinea fowl perhaps? #bird
Looks like a cheetah or hyena to me. This is my first classification. 😉
