Snapshot Serengeti Talk
bird or insect? I can't estimate its size.
Is this a trap or a little tree shelter on the right?
No idea. Hyenas, resting antelopes...??
topi?
#guinea_fowl and several #swift
Looks like this #secretary_bird found a snake
Probably wildebeest, but very indistinct, even after lightening
7(?) #thomson's an a hyena?
#butterfly Perhaps Mylothris sp.? Is there any serengeti insect fieldguide?
Underexposed guinea fowl??
Kori bustard or vulture/ raptor(other)? I went with bustard 😃
Is this a lion's ear?
#bird(other) in the tree could be a hornbill. Von der Decken's (Tockus deckeni)???
#lion #collar
lion?
Is there a second #jackal exiting left? (young?)
After lightening this eyeshine appears to be at ground-level. Perhaps a rodent or a reptile.
He who mistaketh an ear for a tail.... (forgotten line from the Book of Proverbs). I'm probably a little hypoglycaemic 😃
Not sure. Zebra on the right and impala(???) left?
Hartebeest? Lion??
Butterfly in picture no.3 ??
Mixed herd of #grant's gazelle and #thomson's
Could be a large baboon.
2 hyenas or gazelles?
2.0–3.0 oz (weaver) vs. 2.0-3.6 kg (eagle). Slightly miscalculated 😃
fish eagle? Looks rather small.
speeding #eland
reedbuck ?
Could it belong to a buffaloe's horn? Sometimes they have grooves or other deformations 😃
Is this a bird or a mammal wagging its tail??
Not sure about this animal's size, but I chose elephant, too.
Does ruminating count as "resting" or "eating"? 😃
#topi I can't ID the 2 (or3) animals behind the trees. More topis?
#reedbuck #young
#bird(other) . Probably bustards. White-bellied??
2 #human and an unidentified movement in front of the hassocks on the left
#jackal
Hard to believe, but I can't see if these creatures on the right are cattle, buffalo or even wildebeest 😦
warthog?
On the left there's a male antelope (scent-marking?). Impala?
Wrong time for aardwolf or striped hyena. Is it simply an odd part of a zebra?
Not sure. There should be black marks if it was an impala or one of the gazelles. Is it a steenbok?
wildebeest?
Or is it a duck?
#bird(other) Looks like a house sparrow 😃
Large #bird(other)
Kori bustard, antelope or no animal at all? 😃
Horns look like reedbuck, but it appears rather small.
Is there an animal behind the little bush, or just branches in the wind?
?
Vulture?
Not sure, what this #cheetah is doing here. Eating? Scent-marking?
All I see is a mane. Lion or warthog? 😃
Right of the eyeshine I see some spots. Leopard or illusion?
hyena?
No idea. Backside of a striped hyena??
Whose back is this?
male #grant's_gazelle
"a couple" vs. "a couple of" and german "Paar" vs. "paar" could be remnants of the no longer productive Dual numerus 😃
Rhinoceros?
#bird(other) Any more specific ideas?
Are there zebras under the tree (far right)? My eyes aren't what they used to be... 😃
#buffalo with a skin disease. Scabies?
There seems to be no wind, but the gras in the left corner is moving a little. Rodents?
buffalo?
#secretary_bird
eland?
Can't ID. Shape looks like a hyena
#mongoose
plover was my first guess - before I went astray in differential diagnoses 😃
Is this a dove or a small raptor? (Or, for the sake of namedropping... a white-bellied go-away-bird?) 😃
Bird(other) (or insects??)
#hyena checking out the camera 😃
Is there a bird R of the little tree?
Is this the tail of a mongoose or vegetation?
waterbuck?
Could it be a hussar/patas monkey?
Lions or Warthogs?
Something is moving underneath the tree. Aardvark? Vulture?
