#secretary-bird Too bad about the moisture on the lens 😦
Looks like a Thomson's gazelle to me
Zebra's got something to say...
Yes. Probably either a wildebeest or a zebra.
nice shot of #warthogs
seeds or dust reflecting the flash
Correct!
My guess would be buffalo, because their backs look flat, not sloped.
Cattle sightings are extremely rare and unlikely. These are either buffalo or wildebeest.
Kori bustard?
Wild guess: reedbuck
From the length of the tail, it is more likely a herd of wildebeest.
#Impala. Long, narrow face and characteristic dark patch between the ears
spotted #hyena - see http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/?&_ga=1.234978689.1275839254.1357344125#/subjects/ASG001nisa
Gazelle (Thomson"s?) in the distance. Butterfly on the right. But what is the small tan moving thing front left: mouse? lizard? butterfly?
I think it is the tip of a wildebeest's horn - note the group of wildebeest resting in the shadow of the tree in the middle distance.
If you zoom in (control + on PC or command + on a Mac), you can see it is definitely vegetation.
More zebras
Wildebeest, I think. They most frequently herd together.
Too distant to be sure of species. I tagged them as zebras because those tend to look white in the long distance.

No actual animal in the photo, but moving shadow, an elephant perhaps?
I see 3 lions, no zebra
#aardvark
Mouse or small bird on the right?
Yes, dik-diks show up in this spot every year.
Yes! a #baby #giraffe, I think
gorgeous silhouette shot of #thompsons-gazelle
tail of a bird sitting on the camera stand
Tail of a #hare?
just plants
Looks like a #guinea-fowl to me. I think the thing moving in the distance was a truck. I tagged it #human.
#aardvark ?
Wildebeest? or gazelle of some type?
or maybe topi
great #hippo shot!
crazy horns on the closer one.
I guessed male lion because of what looks like a little tuft of mane at the top of the photo, but now I think it is an eland.
the #leopard is in her tree again
I think the ones (at least 4) in the background are wildebeest
Yes! First time I've seen more than one #springhare in a shot!
note straight horns, mane, faint stripes on shoulder, dark patch behind knee
female #eland
Thomson's gazelle
#baby tommy
Is it carrying a kitten?
I guessed lion
Almost missed the two tommies on the other side of the elephant!
Starry sky at dusk
#selfie
Could it possibly be a leopard crossbreed?
Kori bustards? I can't find any images online that show the top of the head, so can't tell.
Hard to tell, but I'm guessing the top of a guinea fowl's head.
Yep. Tommies.
eland, I think
#serval and moth
Just one - facing right, bushy white tail on left
#wildebeest with healed #wound
Jackals caught in the rain?
four #elephants
Ostrich was my guess.
adorable #dik-dik
#elephant
nice shot of #white-tailed-mongoose
#waterbuck
Looks like a Thomson's
Looks more like an impala: larger, black-tipped ears and longer face
Bushbucks?
vegetation
#baby #baboon
Two females?!
I guess I'm just not seeing it right - it looks different from the hundreds of others I've seen so far.
cute baby tommy
What's wrong with the baby's face?
wildebeest or zebra
#reedbuck
#baby #lions
#human hand
white-tailed #mongoose
awesome 😃
the #lion doesn't sleep tonight
steenbok?
Sleepy babies 😃
I guessed duiker based on the coloration, especially around the mouth. Was I wrong?

Just another #warthog
Interesting interaction. Is that a newborn #baby?
spot the giraffes!
#vulture, right?
young wildebeest #selfie with zebras

You're right. Found him again http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/?_ga=1.197218607.1275839254.1357344125#/subjects/ASG001e09h
Zebra checking out the camera
#serval
2 birds - one by the farthest dead branch also
#nursing #young
wildebeest
yes
??? I guessed buffalo, but it seems too low. There's no crest or mane, so not warthog or wildebeest. Help!
No, there's a herd of them in the background - buffalo, I think
baby wildebeest, I think
zebras
#elephant parade
ghostly #hartebeest
gorgeous #cheetah
looks like a Thomson's fawn
yes, #wildebeest
No, it's a #leopard
Also http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG001bh6s
There were two lions here 2 hours earlier (http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG001bh24) - probably one of them.
#baby #buffalo

Butterfly?
a roll in the hay
fabulous #secretary-bird
#pregnant #zebras
aardvark, I think, or possibly a warthog
#Leopard resting in the foreground tree
I think there's a lizard in the grass, right foreground.
#baboon youngster & family
wild guess: genet, based on size
??? random guess from shape of ear & hint of spots: 2 servals
#elephant clan
adolescent male #impala
imminent #lion mating?
#abstract
The smile on the baby's face is priceless
#elephant family - sweet!
#leopard in the tree
Not hyena - 2 #lions
I would guess hyena.
Tail feathers of a bird standing on the camera. You'll see this a lot.
extreme #closeup #hyena
#elephant, moon & star
#lion under dramatic sky
Grant's, from the rump and tail coloration
Magnificent #elephant
handsome #raptor
That would be my guess, too.
Small bird? Giant insect? Falling flower or leaves?
#impala. Note the black spot where the back thigh meets the belly, the layers of color on the body and the black spot on top of the head.
#giraffe with intimate friends
yes!
where there's smoke, there's #fire
#dik-dik!
herd of resting wildebeest
#zebra huddle
More likely a zebra (or two)
#leopard sleeping in the tree? All of my enhancement results are ambiguous - too much pixelation.
bat-eared fox, maybe?
Could be anything...
Perfect example of a #secretary-bird
It's a #serval - just one
Not sure there is anything there - I couldn't find animal shapes with any type of enhancement. The "eye shine" may be stars.
#vervet-monkey, I think
#hartebeest #selfie
yes, #spotted-hyena
#hippo - great capture!
2 giraffes - one eating the tree in the distance.
4 elephants - one in the distance hidden by the near one's trunk in 2nd & 3rd frame.
Nice horns!
Wildebeest
No elephants, but what looks like maybe a zebra or hartebeest moving left to right.
#zebra #young #nursing
#leopard
I think it is an elephant investigating the camera.
Yes, it is. Categorize as "Human"
#aardwolf
lion or leopard or cheetah
spooked by the camera?
What klmcchesney said: a zebra, a wildebeest and the moon.
Thomson's gazelles.
Tail of a bird standing on the camera.
Could just be sleeping.
Wha????
#warthogs in a hurry
Gorgeous!
Thomson's gazelle. Check the samples of gazelle rumps - the tommy is the closest match.
#giraffe 😃
If you google white-tailed mongoose and select Images, you will see photos that clearly match this one.
Mouse?
Wow. Poor thing.
2 zebras and 1 tommy in the mid-ground. Those are trees on the horizon.
#lions
Baboons? warthogs?
definitely spotted #hyena (photo enlarged and enhanced using iPhoto)
After enlargement (control + on PC or command + on Mac), it looks like a bird to me.
#secretary-bird
Tail does not look like a buffalo's; more like a wildebeest's. Buffalo tail has a tuft, while wildebeest's is more like a horse's tail.
#wildebeest rush
#wildebeest the size, stripes and skinny legs provide the necessary clues.
Wildebeest, I think.
Never seen so many #elephants together in a herd!
lovely!
#dikdik
Yes! #leopard
Not a mongoose? Looks to me like it has stripes...
Yes.
From the tail and the hint of stripes, I'd guess wildebeest.
Yes - those are wildebeest stripes/colors.
Zebra closeup in first 2 frames. Wildebeest seen through the zebra's tail in the 3rd frame.
Six #giraffes! The largest group I've seen 😃
Yes. This location is where they most often show up.
Baboon maybe?
male lion, isn't it? maybe more than one
too many #impala does in the photo booth!
topi
Cool!
Can't ID the small critter with the glowing eyes - fox, maybe?
Two Tommies sparring under the big tree on the left edge
tail of a bird resting on the camera
Hmmm - looks like a baby wildebeest
extreme closeup: guinea fowl
dead branch. you'll see it in a lot of photos taken in this spot.
#ostrich x2
just a plant
That was my guess, too.
I think its a Thomson's gazelle.
#warthog
running #wildebeest
Actually, that's the moon.
bat-eared fox?
excellent shot of a #secretary-bird
Almost certainly not a rhino - the "horns" are leaves. Can't tell if the blur is animal or a plant blowing in the wind.
A zorilla, maybe?
Hyena?
#reedbuck - the black spot under the ear gives it away
mongoose?
buffalo or cattle?
White #stork
head & ears are the wrong shape for dik dik - maybe a reedbuck or steenbok?
Suggestions?
#vulture
#vervet #monkey
Best shot of a spotted #hyena I've seen.
I think maybe 3 wildebeest (horns? no stripes) lying in the shade, and possibly 3 more under the distant tree on the right edge.
Yes, all wildebeest
Frame 2, left edge: tail? bird?
#elephant s
definitely
awesome!
😃
#stork?
Lucky!
Wow -cool!
Go, baby elephant, go!
Wild guess - female lion?
I would guess buffalo, based on the tail, but it is hard to tell in this light.
Two small doggish animals moving quickly from center-right in the mid-ground. Jackals, maybe?
Yes, more wildebeest
interspecies interaction
From size, color, the black spot just visible on the back of the foreleg, and the tail tuft visible in photo 2, this is an eland.
I think there are 5-6 buffalo there.
#lion - definitely male 😃
#cub
#porcupine
First time I've seen more than one #hippo in a shot.
#young #elephant nursing?
Not mourning; the youngster is alive: http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG00184yu
#cheetah
With that hint, I went back and adjusted the exposure on this one, and can see the hyena's spots.
The only one I could find is 40 minutes later, a hyena: http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0015l1x
#lion & watchful #zebras
Impala (?) - not lion
#fire
Interesting horn shape
Apparently a buffalo = http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0013fr4
#tooclose for identification
What kind of #bird is this?
Probably a zebra - see http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0016yye
Elephant? Buffalo?
#secretary bird
#lions with #kill
Looks like an eland, from the shape and angle of the horn.
I marked these as topis based on the tail, color and face shape (high-set eyes), but the horns don't look right.
#mongooses? #vervet #monkeys?
There's something large back there…buffalo? rhino?
#hippo
#storm
See earlier capture from the same camera: http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0012w39
#warthog - extreme #closeup
Pretty sure that's a male #lion's mane.
#elephant's tail - that thick thing on the right edge is it's hind leg.
curious #serval playing with the camera?
#Sparring bucks
funny 😄
LOL - dancing #hartebeest 😄
female #lion? Is there any way to tell the difference between male and female by facial features?
#giraffes
#baboon
#cow?
#warthog?
#lion #closeup
extreme #close-up!
bat-eared #fox?
first time I've seen 2 #hippos together
#babies - fawn and foal
#warthog #closeup
Surprised they didn't steal the camera.
2 Thompson's - one is hiding behind the closest Grant's. The rest are Grant's.
spotted #hyena - great capture!
#baby #wildebeest
#Warthog
#hartebeest
Yeah, a #jackal. In ASG000y80h you can see the white tip on the tail.
Looks more like an aardvark to me.
Going back a few images, probably a secretary bird
#young #zebra
#impala
#buffalo twin calves
sparring #impalas
buffalo, not elephant
#leopard - gorgeous shot!
Actually, that overexposed white thing on the right is an #elephant 's leg - ASG000qumu
Not fire. Just a camera malfunction.
#fire?
#elephant, not buffalo. The thickness of the tail tassel fooled me.
Serengeti #sunset
What a fabulous shot! And what a pregnant gazelle...
Lovely!
In the tree on the right, two primates: are they monkeys or baboons?
I count 5 #baboons in and under the tree...
#elephants interacting
2 hartebeests 😉
#hyena mouth! the camera survived though
#wildebeest #young
Doesn't look like a Kori's, but maybe another kind of #bustard?
three #elephants
#reedbuck with singed back
#wildebeest (not elephant)
Leaves; not an animal. See ASG000neh5.
Actually, this is leaves - see ASG000neh5. Tricky!
#buffalo, believe it or not
#hartebeest spooked by the sound of the camera?
Going back 2 shots to ASG000r82o, it appears to be a spotted #hyena.
I guessed some sort of bird.
#wildebeest stampede
Tommys
#elephants (one a baby), not rhinos. They looked too short & legs too small, but ASG0010mdl shows elephants
#baby #elephant
#lion on the hunt
#warthog close-up
Some #hartebeests, but some other antelopes too - what types?
#elephants, #baby elephant
#secretary #bird
#hartebeest black with soot
#Thomson's, not Grant's
#jackal??
#hartebeest, not a lion :-\
#topi, not hartebeest
#elephant's trunk
hyena?
From the prior and following photo series (ASG000p6n5 and ASG000p6n7) it is probably a young #baboon. Might be another in the tree, too.
guessed wildebeest, but based on later photos, it is actually a #hartebeest
#hartbeest
Serval? Hyena?
Possible cheetah? iPhoto enhancement suggested a spotted cat around the "eye" light on the right; seen them here before.
#dik dik
I marked them as "impalas", but they are not the ones I'm used to seeing - different horn shape. None of the samples look like these.
Welcome to the world, little guy!
little cutie 😃
What are the creatures moving beyond the trees? baboons? a flock of birds?
#weaverbird nests
closeup!
Maybe a vervet monkey? From the way it moved, that would be my guess.
Hilarious!
#eland
You're probably right. I fiddled with it in iPhoto - got a hint of stripes.
Still not sure what it is, but it's not an elephant.
Based on the shot before this one (ASG000ya2l), I'm guessing a hyena is chewing on the camera case here.
#Thompson's #gazelle (see ASG000o394)...not a lion 😕
From imgs 1 minute before (ASG000n63f) and later (ASG000n63j), it's a #wildebeest. But I couldn't have guessed that from the given photo.
#vultures
Looking at the photos before and after, there's no movement - I think it is just leaves.
fighting "wildebeest"
Human... Not sure what or how, but both before and after shots show a human
Awwww... #zebra #foal
#impala with gorgeous antlers
#ostriches
#lion & nursing #cub - sweet!
3 #mongooses
Cheetah?
#elephant!
#elephants
2 #lions
serval in the grass?
#wildebeest babies
#Wildebeest nursery - lots of babies!
#ostrich in 3rd frame
Welcome to the world, #baby wildebeest!
I think you're right, sisige - good eye!
guessed wrong again - #cheetah, not serval (ASG000rt5r)
#hippo butt!
Moving too fast to see what it was, and I guessed wrong - looks like a #reedbuck in ASG000ykq8
sigh... I guessed buffalo based on the color, but it was yet another #wildebeest. http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0011dwx
Yes, you can see it more clearly in ASG000zwmb
what a handsome #baboon!
Another one for the scratch collection 😃
Nap time for the #lionesses
Probably a #baboon's tail - all the photos before and after on the camera are of baboons
#caracals
some kind of bird?
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #cheetah with her cubs
buffalos
#wildebeest youngsters 😃
😄 Dirty face! #hartebeest
No, just a topi or wildebeest.
Wish I could see the before or after series of this #zebra photo - what's going on?
#wildebeest tussle
#baboon, I think
Yes, looks like spotted #hyena.
Are those lions or just wildebeest running along the left side?
#elephant?
Huh. #cheetah was my first thought, but then the fur looked too long so I tagged it as a spotted hyena.
Oops! only tagged one #giraffe and hit "Finish" before I noticed the other one...
Hello, little #buffalo!
Love the #zebra trio, each with its head on the back of the next 😃
Actually, it is a #hartbeest. Check out the tails in the sample photos - a useful way to discriminate between butts 😃
#serval - pretty kitty!
#caracal kittens?
#hare & #dikdik
#baboon troop, hoping to catch a baby #impala?
Ears look too small. I think it is a #dikdik.
Yes, wildebeest
I thought it was an #ostrich
Human - pants leg.
Yes, a dik dik 😃
#leopard, I think - acting just like my cat.

aardvark, I think, or possibly a warthog
#Leopard resting in the foreground tree
I think there's a lizard in the grass, right foreground.
#baboon youngster & family
wild guess: genet, based on size
??? random guess from shape of ear & hint of spots: 2 servals
#elephant clan
adolescent male #impala
imminent #lion mating?
#abstract
The smile on the baby's face is priceless
#elephant family - sweet!
#leopard in the tree
Not hyena - 2 #lions
I would guess hyena.
Tail feathers of a bird standing on the camera. You'll see this a lot.
extreme #closeup #hyena
#elephant, moon & star
#lion under dramatic sky
Grant's, from the rump and tail coloration
Magnificent #elephant
handsome #raptor
That would be my guess, too.
Small bird? Giant insect? Falling flower or leaves?
#impala. Note the black spot where the back thigh meets the belly, the layers of color on the body and the black spot on top of the head.
#giraffe with intimate friends
yes!
where there's smoke, there's #fire
#dik-dik!
herd of resting wildebeest
yes
#zebra huddle
More likely a zebra (or two)
#leopard sleeping in the tree? All of my enhancement results are ambiguous - too much pixelation.
yes!
bat-eared fox, maybe?
Could be anything...
Perfect example of a #secretary-bird
It's a #serval - just one
Not sure there is anything there - I couldn't find animal shapes with any type of enhancement. The "eye shine" may be stars.
#vervet-monkey, I think
#hartebeest #selfie
yes, #spotted-hyena
#hippo - great capture!
2 giraffes - one eating the tree in the distance.
4 elephants - one in the distance hidden by the near one's trunk in 2nd & 3rd frame.
Nice horns!
Wildebeest
No elephants, but what looks like maybe a zebra or hartebeest moving left to right.
#zebra #young #nursing
#leopard
I think it is an elephant investigating the camera.
Yes, it is. Categorize as "Human"
#aardwolf
lion or leopard or cheetah
#zebra huddle
lion?
spooked by the camera?
#wildebeest
the size, stripes and skinny legs provide the necessary clues.
Yes!
extreme closeup: guinea fowl
dead branch. you'll see it in a lot of photos taken in this spot.
#ostrich x2
just a plant
That was my guess, too.
I think its a Thomson's gazelle.
#aardvark
#warthog
running #wildebeest
Actually, that's the moon.
bat-eared fox?
excellent shot of a #secretary-bird
Almost certainly not a rhino - the "horns" are leaves. Can't tell if the blur is animal or a plant blowing in the wind.
A zorilla, maybe?
Hyena?
#reedbuck - the black spot under the ear gives it away
mongoose?
buffalo or cattle?
White #stork
head & ears are the wrong shape for dik dik - maybe a reedbuck or steenbok?
Suggestions?
#vulture
#vervet #monkey
Yes.
Best shot of a spotted #hyena I've seen.
I think maybe 3 wildebeest (horns? no stripes) lying in the shade, and possibly 3 more under the distant tree on the right edge.
Yes, all wildebeest
Frame 2, left edge: tail? bird?
#hare
#elephant s
definitely
awesome!
😃
#stork?
Lucky!
Yes.
I think there are 5-6 buffalo there.
#lion - definitely male 😃
#cub
#porcupine
#hare
First time I've seen more than one #hippo in a shot.
#young #elephant nursing?
Not mourning; the youngster is alive: http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG00184yu
#cheetah
With that hint, I went back and adjusted the exposure on this one, and can see the hyena's spots.
The only one I could find is 40 minutes later, a hyena: http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0015l1x
#lion & watchful #zebras
Impala (?) - not lion
#fire
Interesting horn shape
Apparently a buffalo = http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0013fr4
#tooclose for identification
What kind of #bird is this?
Probably a zebra - see http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0016yye
Elephant? Buffalo?
#secretary bird
#lions with #kill
Looks like an eland, from the shape and angle of the horn.
I marked these as topis based on the tail, color and face shape (high-set eyes), but the horns don't look right.
#mongooses? #vervet #monkeys?
#fire
There's something large back there…buffalo? rhino?
#fire
#hippo
#storm
See earlier capture from the same camera: http://talk.snapshotserengeti.org/#/subjects/ASG0012w39
#lion
#warthog - extreme #closeup
Pretty sure that's a male #lion's mane.
#elephant's tail - that thick thing on the right edge is it's hind leg.
curious #serval playing with the camera?
#Sparring bucks
funny 😄
LOL - dancing #hartebeest 😄
female #lion? Is there any way to tell the difference between male and female by facial features?
#giraffes
#baboon
#cow?
#warthog?
#lion #closeup
extreme #close-up!
bat-eared #fox?
first time I've seen 2 #hippos together
#babies - fawn and foal
#warthog #closeup
Surprised they didn't steal the camera.
2 Thompson's - one is hiding behind the closest Grant's. The rest are Grant's.
spotted #hyena - great capture!
#baby #wildebeest
#Warthog
#hartebeest
Yeah, a #jackal. In ASG000y80h you can see the white tip on the tail.
Looks more like an aardvark to me.
Going back a few images, probably a secretary bird
#young #zebra
#impala
#lions
#lion
#lion
#buffalo twin calves
sparring #impalas
buffalo, not elephant
#baboons
#leopard - gorgeous shot!
Actually, that overexposed white thing on the right is an #elephant 's leg - ASG000qumu
Not fire. Just a camera malfunction.
#fire?
#elephant, not buffalo. The thickness of the tail tassel fooled me.
Serengeti #sunset
What a fabulous shot! And what a pregnant gazelle...
#elephant
Lovely!
In the tree on the right, two primates: are they monkeys or baboons?
I count 5 #baboons in and under the tree...
#vervet #monkey
#elephants interacting
#topi
2 hartebeests 😉
#hyena mouth! the camera survived though
#wildebeest #young
Doesn't look like a Kori's, but maybe another kind of #bustard?
three #elephants
#reedbuck with singed back
#reedbuck with singed back
#wildebeest (not elephant)
#baboon
#closeup
spotted #hyena
Leaves; not an animal. See ASG000neh5.
Actually, this is leaves - see ASG000neh5. Tricky!
#buffalo, believe it or not
#hartebeest spooked by the sound of the camera?
Going back 2 shots to ASG000r82o, it appears to be a spotted #hyena.
I guessed some sort of bird.
#wildebeest stampede
#baboons
Tommys
#elephants (one a baby), not rhinos. They looked too short & legs too small, but ASG0010mdl shows elephants
#baby #elephant
#vervet #monkey
#baboons
#waterbuck
#lion on the hunt
#warthog close-up
Some #hartebeests, but some other antelopes too - what types?
#elephants, #baby elephant
#cheetah
#secretary #bird
#hartebeest black with soot
#Thomson's, not Grant's
#elephant
#jackal??
#hartebeest, not a lion :-\
#topi, not hartebeest
#elephant's trunk
#lions
hyena?
From the prior and following photo series (ASG000p6n5 and ASG000p6n7) it is probably a young #baboon. Might be another in the tree, too.
guessed wildebeest, but based on later photos, it is actually a #hartebeest
#hartbeest
#vulture
Serval?
#baboon
#baboon
#leopard
Cheetah?
#elephant!
#elephants
#elephants
2 #lions
#secretary bird
serval in the grass?
#serval
what a handsome #baboon!
#serval
Another one for the scratch collection 😃
Nap time for the #lionesses
Probably a #baboon's tail - all the photos before and after on the camera are of baboons
#caracals
some kind of bird?
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #cheetah with her cubs
buffalos
#wildebeest youngsters 😃
😄 Dirty face! #hartebeest
No, just a topi or wildebeest.
Wish I could see the before or after series of this #zebra photo - what's going on?
#wildebeest tussle
#baboon, I think
Yes, looks like spotted #hyena.
Are those lions or just wildebeest running along the left side?
#elephant?
#giraffe
#vulture
Actually, it is a #hartbeest. Check out the tails in the sample photos - a useful way to discriminate between butts 😃
#serval - pretty kitty!
#caracal kittens?
#leopard
#hare & #dikdik
#baboon troop, hoping to catch a baby #impala?
#baboon
Ears look too small. I think it is a #dikdik.
#baboon
Yes, wildebeest
#elephant
I thought it was an #ostrich
Human - pants leg.
Yes, a dik dik 😃
#leopard, I think - acting just like my cat.
#mongoose
What is the glowing purple thing in the upper left corner?!?
