Snapshot Serengeti Talk
Buffalo. Seems to be scratching on a fallen tree.
Elephant with possibly a, just visible, youngster resting.
Frame 2. On one of the branches on the left of the big tree there is what seems to be a bird.
Also one at right - probably one of the two seen at left.
Two white butterflies at left.
Buffalo? The body shape seems too stocky for wildebeest.
Rain?
Looks like a wildebeest with possibly a second at left background.
These night shots can be rather confusing!
Thanks. I wondered why there was such a distance between the rear of the animal and the tail tip.
Cheetah with a large animal in front of the camera. Is that a tail tip in frame 3?
Top left. Yellow butterfly (?) or flower.
Top right. Faint white spot. Bug?
Thanks
Wildebeest tail and the pesky fly. More wildebeest in the distance.
Grant's gazelle. Is that another in the left background or is it a Thompson's?
Dik-dik scent-marking?
Black groin patch and white underside so probably impala.
Three(?) Thompson's gazelles and a hartebeest(?)
Eland?
Frame 3, left. Butterfly?
Something on the skyline at right. Top of a vehicle?
Eland's dewlap?
Hartebeest? Can't decide if those are three flies or birds. Flies, I think.
Rather a mess, but possibly a guinea fowl bottom left.
Eland but I can't id the animal in the background.
Several Thompson's gazelles by the trees so I guess that the horn belongs to another Tommy.
Yellow butterfly in frame 1.
Two animals moving left of centre. Difficult to see. Baboons?
Looks like a giraffe under a tree left of centre.
Thanks. That was puzzling.
Frame 3. What is it? Bird?
Young wildebeest?
Resting wildebeest?
Difficult to see but they seem to have large horns. This camera has previously shown many hartebeest so I'll go for that.
Moving vehicle right of centre
Extreme right: dik-dik? moving out of shot.
I mistook the garters for vegetation!
Hartebeest?
Two eland at right. Probably wildebeest in the background and possibly a zebra at left.
Topi?
Several zebra with an eland.
Thompson's gazelle?
I think that those are flies buzzing around the unknown animal at left (frame 3).
Nice image of a topi.
Clicked 1 but just noticed number 2 right of centre.
Wildebeest?
OK. Thanks.
Frame 1. Small yellow bug, bottom right corner.
Looks like two black-and-white birds at left. Wildebeest at right.
Reedbuck?
Oops! Entered it twice. Another Grant's gazelle with that misleading side-stripe.
Tommy? Tail tuft at bottom left and rump stripe at top?
Thompson's gazelles with an ostrich moving in the distance.
Spherical object low-down in the tree at left. Nest?
Two giraffes, one zebra and something (eating?) under the tree at extreme left.
The dewlap had me puzzled.
Wildebeest(?) with at least two Thompson's gazelles in the background.
Frame 2. Quarter way up and well right of centre. Possible white butterfly.
Frame 3 at right below horizon. Possible white butterfly.
Several wildebeest. Four?
Looks like an ox-pecker on his back.
Rather hairy so I'll hazard a guess at wildebeest. Also, in frame 1, there's a fly near the bottom of the nose.
Thanks for the explanation. I thought that it might have been a strange camera effect.
I think it's a wildebeest but that tail looks rather strange.
Ah! I missed that bit of side-stripe.
Serval?
Hippo, I think.
Same image as one which I commented about a few minutes ago. Same object at left.
White rectangular object at left. Structure? Two animals standing head-to-head or nose-to-tail?
Kori bustard (?) resting under the tree.
I spotted the bird at right but failed to spot the brown bird with its back to the camera below centre. It seems to be eating.
Thanks for that info.
Looks like a balloon.
Cow-like face. Buffalo?
White bird on the ground between the two buffalo at right in frame 2. Moves left from frame 1.
Spotted hyena
Animal moving at right. Small and not clear. Possible side-stripe. Thompson's Gazelle?
Rear view of spotted hyena?
It was the termite mound that fooled me.
Not very clear but looks like a hare.
Hartebeest. One or two animals resting at right just below the horizon.
Impala?
Wildebeest but what is that eating to the left of the big tree? Small, white and appears to have a black rump.
Yellow butterfly at right in frame 3.
Athletic impala. What prompted that? Others at left seem unconcerned.
Frame 1, bottom right. Bug of some sort.
I spotted the grass head at lower left. The other grass head has an upward movement whicht fooled me.
Is that a bird moving just right of centre? Not a very clear image.
Correction: at right!
Grant's gazelles, despite the side-stripe.
What's the bright object at left? Large moth?
Bug of some sort moving at left.
Two mongoose at left. Something unknown at right. Several unknown animals in the distance.
Yes, I logged it as no animal.
Can't see it very well but, going by the colouring, I'll say it's an impala.
Is that a nest at left or is it just a bundle of vegetation?
I didn't do very well there.
I think that is a zebra hidden behind the tree at right
Impala, judging by the horns and the black mark at the top of the thigh.
Small butterfly moving at bottom right.
Bug at top left in 1&2. Possibly (faint) another or same in 3 at top right.
I've never seen a steenbok. Is this one?
Two Grant's gazelles with several animals right of centre. Zebra or wildebeest?
Zebra?
I mistook the leg for a trunk.
Failed to spot the dust.
White throat. Thompson's gazelle?
Moving zebra?
Elephant?
Warthog?
Didn't spot the gazelles. I was distracted by the bird.
Second elephant (ear visible?) at left?
Frame 3, one-third in from left, level with horizon. Something small and white. Possibly vegetation but I think butterfly.
Wildebeest. I think that there is a resting wildebeest behind this chap.
Oh dear!
Sorry, forgot to mention the Thompson's gazelles.
Can't see the rump properly but I think it's a Grant's gazelle.
Something moving in the background. Car, I think.
It had me thinking for a while.
Back end of spotted hyena at right(?).
Frames 2 & 3. Black butterfly with white wing-tips. Bottom left of centre.
It does move in sync with the leg so you are probably correct.
In frame 2 the bird seems to have something in its beak.
Ear of second lion at left.
Thanks for that.
I find it difficult to distinguish between insect and distant bird. Sometimes the shape helps.
The young zebra seems intrigued by the wildebeest.
Frame 2; insect left of spike. What's that right of spike in frame 1? Same insect or distant bird?
Lighting can make quite a difference on some images.
I think it's a wildebeest despite the striped appearance.
I think that the blur at right is probably a moving insect.
Zebra and wildebeest seem to get along very well together.
Difficult to see. Spotted hyena?
Zebra eating and bird (other) resting in the tree. Can't id the animals left background. More zebra?
Thanks for explanation.
Wildebeest with four zebra(?) moving at left.
What's that?
Three Thompson's but what is the dark object which appears just above the horizon at right in frame 3?
Tommy? Also one resting just visible at bottom left corner; an ear at right; possibly another (or vegetation) behind the neck.
Thanks for confirmation.
Large butterfly (or small bird?) at left.
Good shot of the characteristic markings of an impala.
It's lost a horn. The hump in opening frame (2) looks really strange.
Clicked no animals then spotted the zebra's rear end.
Two hartebeest. My second viewing of this image.
Possibly the rear end of a wildebeest.
Thompson's gazelle with an annoying fly.
Hairy throat. Wildebeest?
Something at centre. Zebra?
Nearly missed number two some distance beyond. Best in frame 3.
I thought that it might be a tree but the shape is rather odd. Perhaps we can see the tops but not the trunks.
Zebra. I can't make out the object on the left skyline.
Interesting. Thanks for that.
Thanks. They look like comets!
Spotted hyena?
Moving car with wildebeest. Zebra just right of centre?
Baffled! Are they moving right-left or left-right.
Wildebeest rubbing noses.
I first thought that it was spotted hyena but then I decided that the head wasn't quite right so I went for lion.
Are those Tommies on the right horizon?
Impala? Can't see the rump markings or heel patches but the left horn looks like impala.
Thanks. Yes, I see what you mean about the dark patch.
Sorry. It's impala which have the groin patch.
It seems to have short fur and in the bottom left corner there is a black area, possibly the groin patch of a Thompson's gazelle?
Thanks.
Elephant. Tip of tusk visible.
ARGHH! I meant to click hartebeest. Careless.
It was the ear that persuaded me.
Bug walking on the uppermost grass leaf at right. Another (or distant bird) left and lower of this on frame 2.
Buffalo?
Wildebeest under the tree and one resting at right.
Looks more like a flying bug than a bird.
Pretty sure that's a bushbuck.
Two Thompson's gazelles, I think.
Agree about the second bug.
Giraffe in front of a tree left of centre.
Two (?) guinea fowl at right. Bug of some sort on the grass at left.
Bat-eared foxes, I think.
Thompson's gazelle (and a fly) investigating the camera.
Interesting. Thanks for the info.
I hadn't realised that the kori bustard was so tall.
Kori bustard and a Thompson's gazelle (having a scratch) sharing the shade.
Frame 1, just right of centre, one-third up. White butterfly.
Back end of bird (other)?
Evil-looking spotted hyena. The eye-shine in the distance seems to be accompanied by zebra stripes, or is that my imagination?
Lots of flies but I can't place the animal. Looks like a large backside but apparently no tail.
Dik-dik? Can't make out the other animal.
These night shots can be confusing.
Is that a second Tommy appearing from behind the mound in frame 3?
Topi? What's that at left?
Zebra with wildebeest(?) at extreme right.
Thompson's? Guessing based on colours.
Guess at a wildebeest.
Zebra with unidentified flying objects.
Two insects in frame 2.
Good!
A couple of guinea fowl?
Hippo, judging by the hide.
OK. Is the light ridge along the spine of any significance?
Grant's?
Fight!
Warthog, I think.
Two buffalo(?) behind that cloud. Insects?
Please remind me: should we record a slate as a human interacting?
Wildebeest with three warthogs at right. (Two adults and one juvenile.)
Dull-coloured butterfly, frame2, centre.
Hippopotamus?
Giraffe at right?
Flying insect, frame 3.
Wildebeest having a scratch. Another eating just right of the big tree? Poor contrast.
Looks like a warthog.
Orange butterfly in frame 2.
I see it now. The red tinge of the far wing fooled me.
Glad that you agree.Trees in the background are a problem.
I think it's an impala, although I might be imagining the horns.
Two Tompson's with (frame 3) a bird(?) at bottom right.
Buffalo? Look rather stocky.
Missed the zebra.
Moth bottom left?
The side-stripe led me astray.
Thompson's with two butterflies, and possibly other animals in the distance behind the gazelle.
Doesn't look like a bird. Does it land on the grass in frame 3? Butterfly ?
I'm doing well tonight!
Hare? Big ears.
Dik-dik(?) moving quickly.
Tommies with three zebra(?) moving on the skyline at left.
Didn't spot that but the moving vegetation is sometimes confuses me.
White moving object in front of the tree. Butterfly? Can't make out the shape.
Too fast with the mouse button. Missed the four birds (other).
Frame 1, left. Butterfly?
Is that a hartebeest at right?
Thompson's?
It certainly looks strange.
Frame 2. Zebra visible between the two wildebeest.
Can't see the ear tips but black tuft between the ears, the black patch at the top of the rear leg and the two-tone body say impala.
Strangely circular but possibly a bat.
Small white butterfly(?) right of centre in frame 2 moves right in frame 3.
Cicked too soon and missed the bird in frame 1.
Frame 1. Right of centre near the bottom. Black butterfly/moth.
Difficult to see but I think impala.
Big hare (and something in the tree).
Centre. Moving vehicle.
OK
Thanks. First one that I've seen.
Moving vehicle(?) in the distance.
White-tailed mongoose?
Raptor judging by the beak.
Flying insect at right. Thought it was vegetation but too much movement in last frame, I think.
Is that a bird on the neck of the nearer giraffe?
Bottom, just right of centre. Looks like a bird's wing.
OK.
On the horizon at right. Wildebeest?
Frame 3 certainly is superb.
Thanks for ident.
Thompson's behind the bush. Bird (other), dark-coloured, moving on the ground in front of the bush.
Nice images of butterfly.
Jackal?
Oh! Thanks for the correction. I can't see the resting animal clearly on my screen and can't make out the mane.
Didn't realise that they scent-marked. Thanks for info.
Dik-dik, but what is it doing? Seems to be rubbing on something.
Male lion at left(?) with resting female.
Zebra or wildebeest?
Spotted hyena. Nice image.
Thanks. Strange effect.
What are these? Apparently spherical and moving upwards.
Two animals moving at left. Zebra?
I almost missed them.
Two giraffes behind the trees at right.
Odd. Spider's silk?
Moving vehicle at centre.
Nests at left.
Are those elephants?
Insect flying from grass at right.
Any ideas about the mound?
Unusual formation of small clouds.
Bottom RH corner. Looks like a bird moving. Nothing else moving there so not moving vegetation, I think.
Foiled by vegetation again!
It's rather close to the ground or has the branch broken?
Zebra with several more in the distance. Possibly a wildebeest in the distance right of the tree.
Two Thompson's gazelles, but the two animals at left look too big to be Tommies.
Vegetation?
Wldebeest, but what is that black object in the bush? Looks like a nest
Moving vehicle at right.
Not much detail but the ear-tips look black. Impala?
Thanks. Wasn't too sure.
Dik-dik? Something white moving left to right in the bush to the right of the animal. Frames 1 & 2.
Insect top left, frame 2.
Buffalo? with a couple of insects.
Is that a second elephant at left? Difficult to see.
Moving vehicle, centre?
Small white butterfly/moth moving in frames 2 &3.
Thompson's right of centre.
Butterfly in frame 3
Back end of hartebeest in frame 1?
Sometimes difficult to distinguish between nearby insect and distance bird. That's fooled me several times!
Butterfly frame 1. In frame 3 two objects in sky at left and one object ( hard to see) just above horizon at right. Butterflies or birds?
Secretary bird, I think, but is that another in frame 1?
Nice photo of a spotted hyena.
Thanks. I was doubtful about the circular shape.
Thanks for the info.
Multi-coloured elephant calf.
Possibly an insect right of centre.
Neck area, some grey/white hair at left. Wildebeest?
Clicked on no animals and then saw something faint and unidentifiable left of centre. Hyena?
Fooled again!
The object at bottom right appears to be hairy and I think that I can see spots. Hyena?
Just inboard of the second tree from right. Wildebeest?
I thought that the "ears" were rather small.
Warthogs centre and at right. Warthog's head at left.
Bottom of screen. Not much to go on. Warthog?
My display's poor definition strikes again.
Two dark shapes at right. Possible stripes. Zebra?
Is that a horn at bottom left?
I see what you mean.
Topi(?) at right with three(?) Thompson's gazelles at left.
I did!
Four impala, not three. Missed the horn at right.
I forgot about the dorsal crest of the eland. I was uncertain about the shape of the horn.
Second thoughts. Eland?
Should the oxpecker be logged as interacting or as feeding?
Three buffalo?
Two wildebeest but what's that moving at the right?
I mistook the black spot forward of the rear leg and the rump black stripe as a pair of black ear tips!
Thanks for the confirmation.
Looks like two impala in the foreground with several others near the trees.
Buffalo or wildebeest? The back-end of the animal at left looks too chunky for a wildebeest.
It had that look about it!
Impala with three of four unidentified animals in the (right) distance.
An insect of some sort flying at left.
I was hoping that was the case.
Thanks for the correction. Missing the youngster was careless.
I can't see black patches but isn't that a topi?
Thanks. I was fooled by the tree. I've just spotted the difficult-to-see second giraffe.
Giraffe at right. Is that another in the centre? Looks rather small.
What's that at top left?
Thompson's? Difficult to make them out.
Two baboons?
Thanks. I'm glad that I got that correct.
Is that an elephant's ear?
One pair of impala horns visible. Can't say if any more there.
Eland right and centre, I think. Don't know about the animals at left. Possibly another eland half out of shot.
Looks like a black patch, right hind leg.Possibly imagination but I think there's a swept-back horn. Topi?
Thanks. I wasn't doubting Mariksu - just interested in the meteorology.
Thanks. Does this area experience mist?
Eland, I think.
Smoke or mist?
Spotted hyena? Looks rather slinky.
Zebra. Eland resting and eating? (Judging by the horns.)
Several Thompson's under the trees at right.
I need a better display.
Between second and third trees from right. Small with faint possibility of side-stripe. Thompson's?
Impala? Looks like a black ear-tip.
That's something else to remember!
Thanks for that confirmation/advice.
Re maricksu's suggestion. Zebra's mane, perhaps.
Warthog. Is that a waterbuck (white rump) over to the left?
Tip of a zorrila's tail?
Should we log flies? (I did.)
Buffalo? Lots of flies at rest.
Thompson's at right? Difficult to discern.
Topi in the background. Can we assume another in front of the camera?
Yes, possibly three. Just spotted something in the background.
Buffalo? Its head seems to be hidden. Perhaps behind another buffalo?
Yes, thanks. I must remember that effect.
Wildebeest. Zebra in the background?
The bull seems to have been enjoying a wallow.
Two bats in formation.
Many thanks.
Refresh my memory, please. Do we ignore vehicles or log as one human? White object at left - tent?
Three animals under the two big tress at left. Zebra?
Eland? I think I see black patches on front legs.
Wild guess - wildebeest.
Buffalo? Bird (other) right of centre.
Yes. Just one impala. I mistakenly thought that the horns and the ears were on separate animals.
Obvious once it's been pointed out! Thanks.
Top right. Might be a bird but doubtful. Light reflecting from foliage?
Stick over shoulder. Cattle nearby?
Two, possibly three, giraffes eating from trees. Difficult to see. Two impala (?) in foreground.
Several animals under the trees. Zebra?
Thanks for that. I could have sworn that I could see a nose and two eyes!
Bottom left . Looks like a zebra (tail and part of leg).
Something dog-like at centre foreground.
Difficult to see dark animals in the gloom!
Impala. Black heel patch visible.
Buffalo but not sure how many. Bat or owl at right?
Can't see any black patches but the animal in the distance looks like a topi.
I was going by the shape. Thanks.
Staff?
Three animals at right. Poor definition. Impala?
Spotted hyena? Has that slinky attitude.
Can't see any black markings but I think topi.
Warthog with unidentified animal left of centre. Not enough contrast.
Difficult against that background.
Several Thompson's under the trees right of centre?
Wildebeest? Possible mane at right.
Zebra with a couple of unidentified animals beyond the zebra at right.
Warthog,or just something in the grass?
One wildebeest, left background. Half-a-dozen zebra. Two buffalo. Don't usually see buffalo close to other animals.
One youngish zebra and several impala (?) in the background.
Several small animals under the trees. Thompson's?
Thanks. That dark face misled me.
Animal at right. Wildebeest? Seems to have a black muzzle but it looks rather too stocky.
Thought that was a mark on the photo but it's a flight of birds (other).
Two. Spotted the backside at right too late.
Forgot to click fire. I assume that the birds are catching small beasties escaping the fire.
Cunningly disguised giraffe behind the big tree, centre?
Far right under the tree. Topi or hartebeest?
Thanks. I have a rather poor definition display. Can't even see a tail!
Two small somethings. Hares?
Not sure if smoke or optical effect. Logged as fire.
Glad I'm not alone!
Not much to go on. Warthog?
Topi and something unidentified in front of the two large trees at left.
Closed too soon. Back end of a zebra just visible at left.
Shapes on the horizon are always dodgy!
Just spotted another beyond the obvious one.
Thought so. Thanks.
Two Thompson's. Possibly a third just left of the nearer animal.
OK. I'll ignore it in future.
The orange thing again.
Clicked the button too soon and omitted the giraffe.
Thanks. I can't make out the pattern, which would have been decisive, and I don't have any way of enhancing images.
I thought a spotted hyena with odd-looking legs and tail but, looking again, is it a giraffe with its head well down?
Having looked at the example photos I tend to agree. It's a much neater mane than that of a wildebeest.
Terrible photo, but a warthog I think. possibly another behind it.
Zebra in the distance, left. Wildebeest (?) in foreground.
Is that an animal on the ground at right?
Impala.(They all appear to have a black patch at top of rear leg where it joins the abdomen.)
Thanks. Hadn't realised that.
No rump stripes and no heel patches visible but the blurry horns look rather impala-like.
Wildebeest, but what's the white bar at left?
Controlled burn.
How did I miss that?!
Six zebra but is that a wildebeest in the distance?
Impala's head at right.
Yes, I did mark it as fire.
Not sure if that's smoke or a dodgy photo. I'll go for smoke.
Two wlldebeest?
Zebra and one (two?) wildebeest, I think.
Many animals in the distance. Wild guess at wildebeest.
Very washed-out but and the rump stripe and what look like black ear tips suggest an impala.
It was the animal at right which suggested zebra to me.
Clicked too soon and missed the Thompson's at right.
Zebra? Some faint stripes there, I think.
Rather blurred. Spotted hyena?
I see the other(s) behind the tree now. More care needed!
Impala(?) under trees at left. Possibly two more under the large tree at right.
I don't recollect having seen buffalo in close proximity to other animals. Is this normal?
Something with striped appearance right of centre. Zebra or vegetation?
Thanks. Some of these photos are very difficult to interpret.
Impala, I think, but not sure how many.
White mark above tail. Grant's?
Just left of centre. Hartebeest?
Bird (other) right of centre?
Tail of number six at left.
Can't beat a good scratch!
Three not one. Too quick on the button!
Impala (black ear-tip) with wildebeest in the background?
It looks so out of place and rather unnatural.
Clicked the wrong button. Wildebeest not zebra!
Strange orange object at right.
Bat flying over the back-end of a buffalo, I think.
Nice close-up. What is it?
Wildebeest left of centre?
I think you are right about number three.
Zebra tail at right?
Poor image but four impala, I think.
Two topi and two calves?
Agreed. I was just about to re-comment having seen a duplicate image with better resolution.
Looks like a butterfly.
Blurry animal left of centre. Wild guess at impala.
Black spot far right, above the tree. Probably second bird.
Looks like a calf beside the wildebeest in the foreground.
Topi but can't be sure how many. Four?
Clicked wrong animal. Impala not Tommies. Senior moment!
Thanks. I missed the giraffe on the right. Image too blurred.
What's that in the background? Giraffe?
Clicked no animals but I think there might be three grazing just right of centre. Can't id them, though.
Impala? Black mark on rear leg.
Poor photo. Dark leg patches suggest topi. Possibly another far left.
Duiker?
I see what you mean about vegetation.
Poor photo but two eland. Possibly some animals top left.
Bat?
Impala but poor photo. Three, I think.
Look over the zebra's right ear. Looks like something with its back to the camera.
Something unidentifiable beyond the zebra.
Right of centre, standing by a tree. Tommy? Bad definition but possibly a black side-stripe. Another resting behind a tree left of centre.
Thanks. I'm learning!
Guessing at hartebeest, but too small and poor definition to be sure.
Thought so!
What's that? The pattern looks like giraffe. Youngster?
Something unidentifiable near the tall tree at right.
A couple of impala but I don't know what the object at right is.
Clicked finish before registering zebra at right.
Looks like that stick construction again.
What's the stick construction?
I didn't do very well there!
Hippo?
Yes. I see the ears now. Thanks.
What's that on the right? Baboon?
Possibly bird (other) on a tree branch. About a third of the way in from the left.
Ah! I thought that I could see black markings on the legs. Perhaps it was just shadow.
What's the animal at right? Doesn't look like a calf.
Butterfly, frame 2.
Slumbering warthog?
Several animals (impala?) in the trees.
Two birds (other) in bottom right corner.
Secretary bird's tail? Just noticed the animal left of centre. Tommy?
Many unidentified animals in the distance.
Giraffe top left corner? Bird (other)? on tree in right foreground. Something moving in trees well left of centre.
White butterfly (?) on tree at right.
Butterfly moving in vegetation just right of centre.
Yes, I'd forgotten about the size of a Tommy.
Zebra at left?
Front left leg of a Tommy?
Difficult to see but looks like three small striped animals. Mongoose?
Vehicle with sun-shade but no idea about the black object (left) in frame 1.
Something moving at right. Appears in frame 2.
Didn't log the white butterfly.
Bird (other) black and white moving in trees at right.
Bird in 2 and 3.
Side-striped jackal?
Balloon at tree level, left.
Am I imaging it or can I see just the tip of the mane of the rear zebra?
It certainly is weird.
Can't id the animals in the background.
The zebra on the left looks strange.
Missed the colour change. Thanks.
Isn't that a Grants despite the side marking?
Too much glare. Animals moving in right background. Zebra?
Insect of some sort at left. (Can't enhance image.)
Bug or spot of dirt? Guessing bug.
Thanks. Quite spectacular.
ID please.
Yellow butterfly.
Missed two more in background.
Insect on stem left of centre above horizon. Second in grass at 8-o'-clock from first. Third appears at 11-o'-clock from No 1 in frame 3.
Female lion's leg as she rolls on her back? (Bottom left)
Tommy? just right of centre.
Hare?
What bird is this?
Buffalo judging by tail and stocky legs.
Very colourful.
I thought that I saw stripes. Must be vegetation.
One lying down in front of the second from left zebra?
One warthog, two vehicles and several unidentified animals in the distance.
Scared off by camera noise?
Buffalo? (plus umpteen flies)
Possibly two insects moving in the bush. One at right; one centre.
Not very clear. Spotted hyena at right?
A few small animals in left distance. Tommys? I think that I see side stripes.
Not sure about this. Doesn't look like a bird. Insect of some sort?
Bird on nearest buffalo.
Several Thompson's in the background so this is probably another.
Is that a male reedbuck?
Unidentified animals left distance.
Ostrich, I think.
I've classified the roller as moving. OK?
Hadn't noticed the grey behind those branches and twigs.
Behind the fallen tree branch. Impala?
Clicked finish too soon so didn't log Guinea fowl at right.
Moving white object just right of centre. Large bird?
White butterfly, frame 3, left of centre, mid-height.
Guinea fowl bottom left corner?
Two small butterflies, bottom right.
I think that I logged the wildebeest.
Out of focus bird, I think.
Too much glare. Kori bustard?
Giraffe in the distance left of the big tree.
Missed them.
Tommys at right?
Yes, at that distance I think you are right.
Thanks. Wasn't aware of hunting-wasps.
Difficult to see. Hyena?
Frame 1. Bird flying just left of the low tree left of centre.
Bird on the back of the nearer zebra.
Frame 2. Dragonfly?
Wildebeest bottom right?
Frame 3. Butterfly?
Insects at top right.
Clicked too soon. Missed the bird top right.
Thanks. I understand your comment about the spacing. Didn't think of that.
There's something small and brown alongside the zebra at right which appears to be eating. Wild guess at warthog. Would they be together?
Again!
I've done this a few minutes ago. It's returned.
Too blurred to be sure. That animal looks too stocky to be a wildebeest. Buffalo?
To the right of the trees at right. Tommy lying down ?
Impala? Middle between the trees. I think I see horns.
I think that the object at bottom right is vegetation.
Is the vertical tail indicative of anything?
Orange-tip butterfly Frame 1. Midway between middle and right side.
Back end of a spotted hyena at left?
Too blurred to be sure. Warthog?
Zebra at left.
Is that an impala under the tree?
Clicked no animals but then saw something at right. Can't identify it though.
Missed the wildebeest at right edge.
White butterfly moving right to left on right of frame.

Hartebeest?
Oh dear!
Sorry, forgot to mention the Thompson's gazelles.
Warthog?
Thanks.
Hartebeest?
Serval?
Kori bustard and a Thompson's gazelle (having a scratch) sharing the shade.
Frame 1, just right of centre, one-third up. White butterfly.
Back end of bird (other)?
Buffalo?
Evil-looking spotted hyena. The eye-shine in the distance seems to be accompanied by zebra stripes, or is that my imagination?
Thanks
Lots of flies but I can't place the animal. Looks like a large backside but apparently no tail.
Dik-dik? Can't make out the other animal.
These night shots can be confusing.
Is that a second Tommy appearing from behind the mound in frame 3?
Topi? What's that at left?
Zebra with wildebeest(?) at extreme right.
Thompson's? Guessing based on colours.
Guess at a wildebeest.
Zebra with unidentified flying objects.
Two insects in frame 2.
Good!
A couple of guinea fowl?
Thanks
Hippo, judging by the hide.
OK. Is the light ridge along the spine of any significance?
Grant's?
Fight!
Warthog, I think.
Thanks
Two buffalo(?) behind that cloud. Insects?
Thanks.
Serval?
Hartebeest?
Please remind me: should we record a slate as a human interacting?
Wildebeest with three warthogs at right. (Two adults and one juvenile.)
Dull-coloured butterfly, frame2, centre.
Hippopotamus?
Giraffe at right?
Flying insect, frame 3.
Wildebeest having a scratch. Another eating just right of the big tree? Poor contrast.
Looks like a warthog.
Orange butterfly in frame 2.
Thanks for that info.
Butterfly ?
OK. Thanks.
I'm doing well tonight!
Hare? Big ears.
Dik-dik(?) moving quickly.
Buffalo?
Thanks
Difficult to see but I think impala.
Big hare (and something in the tree).
Centre. Moving vehicle.
OK
Thanks. First one that I've seen.
Moving vehicle(?) in the distance.
White-tailed mongoose?
Raptor judging by the beak.
Flying insect at right. Thought it was vegetation but too much movement in last frame, I think.
Is that a bird on the neck of the nearer giraffe?
Bottom, just right of centre. Looks like a bird's wing.
Looks like a warthog.
Thanks
Dik-dik, but what is it doing? Seems to be rubbing on something.
Male lion at left(?) with resting female.
Zebra or wildebeest?
Spotted hyena. Nice image.
Thanks. Strange effect.
What are these? Apparently spherical and moving upwards.
Two animals moving at left. Zebra?
I almost missed them.
Two giraffes behind the trees at right.
Odd. Spider's silk?
Grant's?
Moving vehicle at centre.
Nests at left.
Are those elephants?
Insect flying from grass at right.
Thanks
Grant's?
Thanks
Thanks.
OK. Thanks.
Neck area, some grey/white hair at left. Wildebeest?
Clicked on no animals and then saw something faint and unidentifiable left of centre. Hyena?
Fooled again!
The object at bottom right appears to be hairy and I think that I can see spots. Hyena?
Thanks
Eland?
Topi?
Good!
Should the oxpecker be logged as interacting or as feeding?
Three buffalo?
Two wildebeest but what's that moving at the right?
I mistook the black spot forward of the rear leg and the rump black stripe as a pair of black ear tips!
Thanks for the confirmation.
Spotted hyena?
Looks like two impala in the foreground with several others near the trees.
Buffalo or wildebeest? The back-end of the animal at left looks too chunky for a wildebeest.
Buffalo?
It had that look about it!
Topi?
Impala with three of four unidentified animals in the (right) distance.
An insect of some sort flying at left.
I was hoping that was the case.
Thanks for the correction. Missing the youngster was careless.
Impala?
I can't see black patches but isn't that a topi?
Thanks. I was fooled by the tree. I've just spotted the difficult-to-see second giraffe.
Impala?
Thanks
Zebra. Eland resting and eating? (Judging by the horns.)
Several Thompson's under the trees at right.
I need a better display.
Between second and third trees from right. Small with faint possibility of side-stripe. Thompson's?
Thanks
Impala? Looks like a black ear-tip.
That's something else to remember!
Thanks for that confirmation/advice.
Re maricksu's suggestion. Zebra's mane, perhaps.
Topi?
Thanks for that info.
Thanks
Thanks
Eland?
Thanks. I have a rather poor definition display. Can't even see a tail!
Two small somethings. Hares?
Not sure if smoke or optical effect. Logged as fire.
Glad I'm not alone!
Not much to go on. Warthog?
Spotted hyena?
Topi and something unidentified in front of the two large trees at left.
Closed too soon. Back end of a zebra just visible at left.
Shapes on the horizon are always dodgy!
Just spotted another beyond the obvious one.
Thought so. Thanks.
Two Thompson's. Possibly a third just left of the nearer animal.
OK. I'll ignore it in future.
Warthog?
The orange thing again.
Clicked the button too soon and omitted the giraffe.
Thanks. I can't make out the pattern, which would have been decisive, and I don't have any way of enhancing images.
I thought a spotted hyena with odd-looking legs and tail but, looking again, is it a giraffe with its head well down?
Having looked at the example photos I tend to agree. It's a much neater mane than that of a wildebeest.
Terrible photo, but a warthog I think. possibly another behind it.
Zebra in the distance, left. Wildebeest (?) in foreground.
Topi?
Interesting. Thanks for the info.
I don't recollect having seen buffalo in close proximity to other animals. Is this normal?
Warthog?
Something with striped appearance right of centre. Zebra or vegetation?
Thanks. Some of these photos are very difficult to interpret.
Impala, I think, but not sure how many.
White mark above tail. Grant's?
Just left of centre. Hartebeest?
Bird (other) right of centre?
Tail of number six at left.
Can't beat a good scratch!
Three not one. Too quick on the button!
Impala (black ear-tip) with wildebeest in the background?
It looks so out of place and rather unnatural.
Good!
Clicked the wrong button. Wildebeest not zebra!
Strange orange object at right.
Bat flying over the back-end of a buffalo, I think.
Nice close-up. What is it?
Thanks
Impala?
Wildebeest left of centre?
I think you are right about number three.
Zebra tail at right?
Poor image but four impala, I think.
Two topi and two calves?
Thanks.
Grant's?
Thanks
Thanks. I missed the giraffe on the right. Image too blurred.
What's that in the background? Giraffe?
Clicked no animals but I think there might be three grazing just right of centre. Can't id them, though.
Impala? Black mark on rear leg.
Eland?
Poor photo. Dark leg patches suggest topi. Possibly another far left.
Duiker?
I see what you mean about vegetation.
Poor photo but two eland. Possibly some animals top left.
OK. Thanks.
Thought so!
Impala?
What's that? The pattern looks like giraffe. Youngster?
Something unidentifiable near the tall tree at right.
Thanks
A couple of impala but I don't know what the object at right is.
Warthog?
Thanks for that info.
Topi?
What's the animal at right? Doesn't look like a calf.
Hippo?
Butterfly, frame 2.
Slumbering warthog?
Several animals (impala?) in the trees.
Two birds (other) in bottom right corner.
Thanks

Many unidentified animals in the distance.

White butterfly (?) on tree at right.
Butterfly moving in vegetation just right of centre.
Yes, I'd forgotten about the size of a Tommy.

Front left leg of a Tommy?
Thanks
Difficult to see but looks like three small striped animals. Mongoose?
Vehicle with sun-shade but no idea about the black object (left) in frame 1.
Something moving at right. Appears in frame 2.
Didn't log the white butterfly.
Bird (other) black and white moving in trees at right.
White-tailed mongoose?
Bird in 2 and 3.
Side-striped jackal?
Balloon at tree level, left.
Am I imaging it or can I see just the tip of the mane of the rear zebra?
It certainly is weird.
Can't id the animals in the background.
The zebra on the left looks strange.
Missed the colour change. Thanks.
Isn't that a Grants despite the side marking?
Hartebeest?
Oh dear!
Thanks
Too much glare. Animals moving in right background. Zebra?
Warthog?
Insect of some sort at left. (Can't enhance image.)
Bug or spot of dirt? Guessing bug.
Thanks. Quite spectacular.
ID please.
Yellow butterfly.
Missed two more in background.
Insect on stem left of centre above horizon. Second in grass at 8-o'-clock from first. Third appears at 11-o'-clock from No 1 in frame 3.
Female lion's leg as she rolls on her back? (Bottom left)
Tommy? just right of centre.
Hare?
What bird is this?
Buffalo judging by tail and stocky legs.
Very colourful.
I thought that I saw stripes. Must be vegetation.

Thanks
Is that a male reedbuck?
Thanks
Unidentified animals left distance.
Ostrich, I think.
I've classified the roller as moving. OK?
Thanks.
Topi?
I think that I logged the wildebeest.
Out of focus bird, I think.

Insects at top right.
Clicked too soon. Missed the bird top right.
Hartebeest?
Warthog?

Missed the wildebeest at right edge.
White butterfly moving right to left on right of frame.
Rather hairy. Guessing spotted hyena.
Black insect moving at 3-o'-clock just below horizon about halfway to middle of image.
Eland? There seems to be black marks on the front legs and a suspicion of a dewlap.
White butterfly moving right to left at approx mid-height of image.
Serval? Can't see it very well.
Can't identify the animals on the skyline.
Buffalo? The flying object looks like a fly close to the lens.
Aardvark, I think.
Butterfly at 9-o'-clock. Frame 2. Moves down into vegetation.
Spotted hyena?
Or crouching with her eyes on the animals in the distance?
Can't count the people on there.

Jackal?
Missed the animal at right. Buffalo?
Is that a second baboon on the tree?
Butterfly at right.
Oops. Managed somehow to include two humans with the eland.
Topi? Can't see the dark patches. Guessing from the shape of the horns.
Moth managing three wing beats in the duration of the flash?
Bird in tree right of centre. Unidentified animal moving on the skyline right of centre.
Rather hefty for wildebeeste so I'm guessing eland.
What are the two vertical lines?
That's my guess.
Something splashing in the water.
What appears to be an ear of another lion appears above the rump in images 2 and 3.
Looking at it again I have to agree that it has a feathery look.
Civet?
Large bird at left. Can't identify it against that background.
Serval?
Thanks
Thanks. I had done that but decided to check.
Insects?
Hippo's head at right, I think.

Thanks

Young elephant at left. Not sure if one or two adults.Too much glare.
What is that black animal?
Looks like a giraffe's shadow at left.
One, possibly two, warthogs lying down (left) and an unidentified ear moving bottom left.
On second thoughts, is that the lion's tail in frame 1?
Lion eating something?
Yes, I did that.
Could be a bird perched on the lower right branch of the tree right of centre.
OK
I must remember to check before and after photos.
Thanks
Is that a dead Tommy at centre? I think that I see a horn.

Bird on big tree.

Frame 1. Butterfly/moth at 9-'o-clock.
One off screen to left and to right.
Flying insect(?) left of centre.
Thanks, but would it have been standing, resting or interacting?
Frame 3. White butterfly (?) at 8-o'-clock.
Oh! But if it had been a bird how should it have been classified?
Is that bird in frame 1 resting, standing or interacting? I never know how to classify birds on animals.

Eland?
Missed one. Three not two.
I think that I can see horns.
Superb starling
