Snapshot Serengeti Talk
#fire!
Correction - didn't go back far enough. It is a Lion - or, at least, there is a Lion in the group
Previous shots suggest Lioness
My guess is its a Kori Bustard
Nice!
Great shot of a #hippo
napping #leopard
Looks like a caped crusader in shots 1 and 2
#Lion - I want to pet it 😃
I think so
Jackal?
The only movement appears to be the belly moving from breathing - not even an ear or tail twitch.
Nice full size #Giraffe
Just hangin' out #Impala
I've been able to add things at that point - at least, I think they take (they appear in the upper left corner of the picture).
Pretty bird!
What appears to be a very dusty #Topi
Nice shot! #Hippo
Seems like an odd angle for nursing!
That's what I thought - cool, think its the first I've seen!
Are those two #elephants in the front fighting?
#Serval ?
Ouch!
Unless I'm missing something it looks like the back end of a warthog to me.
Buffalo
#buffalo - I love the little tip of the tongue in picture #2!
Can't tell if those are 4 birds in the center or another Impala resting in the grass plus 2 birds. I'm guessing its 4 birds.
Its like one of the illusion pictures. When I was trying to ID it, I just couldn't see anything. Now it is SO obvious!
Probably a Wildebeest - you often see Zebra and Wildebeests together. Alternatively, it could be a Buffalo.
#Hare
Thanks. I wasn't expecting that color or the long mane on a #Waterbuck. Based my id on the face, though 😃
largest group of #Impala I've seen close up
Elephant?
Shoving match!
Look more Buffalo to me - muzzle doesn't seem wide enough for a Hippo.
#Hippo tongue!
Is that a Honey-badger in the left part of the field?
Waterbuck? Face looks right.
baby #wildebeest 😃
Not 1, not 2, but 3 #hippos!
2 #lion!
What is in the foreground?
Wow! Great shot of an owl!
There's no "rolling on the ground" option 😃 #Zebra
Adorable!
Any guesses about what's under the tree in the background. They don't seem big enough to be elephants.
Hate when I don't trust my instincts - second time I've dismissed Lion as just wishful thinking/bias on my part 😦
Awesome sky!
Nevermind - looked at the next picture
Is this a young Impala? Or maybe a young Topi? I picked Impala (white around eyes) thinking the horns haven't formed the full S curve yet
I love the 2nd frame - almost dead center
Baby #Wildebeest
Is that something in the middle near the top of the lit area or is it just vegetation or a rock?
Yes - you can see a head two pictures later.
Hyena?
Is that a #Civet?
Nice picture of an #Impala
Actually, from next picture I think it is a bird taking off.
Yipes - any one want to guess?
"Pretty maids all in a row" (dating myself 😃)
#SpottedHyena at dusk
OMG #DikDik with baby! So cute!
the first I've seen of a #Leopard
Baby #GrantsGazelle
#Reedbuck
I don't remember seeing that about the young in the description - would be helpful. Actually, info to id young for all would be helpful
Possessed #StripedHyena
Oh, my, that's a funny shot!
You put your left foot in, you put your left foot out ... 😃
#Zebra buddies
Wow - that's amazing!
#Wildebeest curtain 😃
If it is the offspring of the Topi, where are the dark marks on the legs? Also, not really much slope from shoulder to rump.
The most #Giraffes I've seen in one picture so far!
Face looks more like Eland to me and no slope from shoulder to rump like Hartebeest - but color/pattern/coat does look right for Eland.
#KoriBustard
Is this a young female #Eland?
#Wildebeest in the distance and a #Hare in the front! Cute.
It's a bush or tree that looks like an animal. The exact same thing is in a picture from 2 days before (but it does look like a big cat!)
#lion (female) - very well hidden just about center?
#Impala in a hurry
I don't know if it is that I really like #Warthogs or I'm just glad to see something other than a #Wildebeest 😃
#Giraffes at dusk
Thanks rib66xyz. I'd seen the image numbers but it never occurred to me to change the url to see earlier or later pictures.
#Zebras posing 😃
How do you see photos before and after to confirm?
Four #ThomsonGazelle - almost invisible!
Most #Elephants I've seen in a single picture ... and a baby!
Any guesses?
crazy lighting #Wildebeest
2nd frame - now that's a funky look! #Wildebeest
#Eland in a hurry
That's awesome!
That makes sense.
#Zebras certainly seem to like to hang out with #Wildebeests
Or Dik Dik
What the heck?
I said Guinea Fowl - in particular the one on the other side of the tree and the one in the lower left corner were what convinced me
I think it is a Dik Dik cause of the elongated upper lip.
Two #hippos
Wow - gorgeous #Cheetah! Nice clear shots - all three.
nice close view of a #secretaryBird
#baboon butt!
Building a nest?
Yeah - I added it to my favorites! Its shots like these which keep me coming back 😃
nice shot of #giraffe
#Cheetah!
I'm ready for my close-up!
My first male lion!
Does look like it but stalks of grass can also glow from the flash like that. Whatever it is, it is much smaller.
I love the braided effect of the tail viewed from behind - very cool
I see two Thompson's Gazelles
RUN!
Looks to me like camouflage pants - human
Last frame - great shot!
I think bird tail is the best guess. I picked Secretary bird but in retrospect it might be the tail of a Kori bustard.
Cool
Is it my imagination or is there a serval sitting on the second rock in from the right (1/4 of the picture in from right just above center)?
Those were the two I was having trouble picking between. I went with lion but it was basically a coin toss
That's what I thought.
Genet or Servil or something else entirely?
