Snapshot Serengeti Talk
#Eland #bird #taxi So do I class the bird as moving? I've classed it as standing 😃
Not much to go on but instinct said #lion. Another shot from the same camera does show lions resting here.
possible vultures circling, too far away
From posture, this one looks to be running
I think there is a bird starting just in front of the mound, or a white paper bag blowing about.
#zebra #dustbath
#dragonfly ?
#hare ?
Something is popping up on the right of the picture, but its just a couple of dots.
I was thinking adolescent, horns look quite small and head looks a little big for the body.
OK, what are the distinguishing factors where there's no horns?
#Thompson's or Grant's? Maybe its just the lighting but I can't see the dark stripe, but has thick horns bending back.
I think its a #steenbok but hard to say. One young one.
#young Thompson's Gazelle. What is the correct term for antelope young? Kids? Calves?
#eland possibly, male definitely 😃
Well its either lots of #steenbok, or two of them being watched by a pack of preditors
#butterfly x2
There's a couple of other shots with lions lying there, one was a young male, so you're probably right. Look through the recents.
I'd go for bat eared fox.
We keep seeing odd bits on that camera. I think its a bird perching on top and we just see the tip of the tail.
Wildebeast in the mist
Oops, missed that tail in the last frame, that'll be 3 then!
Cheetah, with cubs head just showing below camera
2 plus young in foreground, numerous other behind trees
I'm happy with that, I did wonder about lion as I've often seen them on documentaries lying in the shade.
Brown, short hair, lying in the shade and could be lots of things.
Buffalo, posing very majestically for his photo
I'm going for Eland on the colour and fur length, not much else to go on
Any idea what sort? I tagged the same one just as it lands on the prey, another user also has a shot sometime before this one.
Long hairy tail, looks like a wildebeast.
The black stripe between the brown and the white makes it a Thompson's Gazelle. Unless the hard thing is the one is the distance.
2 grants, at least 1 Thompsons but there's others too far to see
Same camera shot as earlier, something hanging over lens
Head obscured by wing, but it looks like an owl that's just landed on a small meal.
Fire only just visible, lots of smoke. Looks like grass fire.
Very unsure on this, lots of eyes, back looks to slope, one on left seem to have thick tail.
camera fallen over
All I can say with certainty is mammal
Whatever it is, its got rough fur and is digging.
The body looks the wrong colour so maybe some other type of fowl.
I've now seen the same thing on two shots from this camera. Could it be some plant hanging over the camera?
Alien Life Form? Something too close to the camera and hence overexposed, not a chance of identifying that!
Two actually, didn't notice the one on the right until I'd pressed finish
Three lots of eyes, but could be anything
Very unsure about this. Nothing seems to fit and not much to go on.
It seems the camera has fallen over
I think the skinny legs behind the one in front are a young one.
Load of eyes, but could be any herd animal
What I though was a thick stripy tail appearing is a curved horn., with the near one moving its head to graze. Confusing!
These are running, not clear if they're playing or being hunted. The next capture from this camera would be interesting.
Possibly 3 in background. 1 zebra. 1 giraffe RHS of fallen tree. 1 giraffe facing to the right and behind two close trees.
Something there, can see eye reflection
Oh Wow, kitty is rubbing up against the camera! Just like a domestic cat scenting the thing he loves.
Hornet?
Similar to another I tagged, could be a mouth of something
Do you get some sort of award for identifying correctly from a close up of a butt! Of course I may be incorrect
The reflection suggests something there, but can't see it
Other animals on horizon, can't identify.
I've clicked human because I think this is probably a horse. It looks like neck and mane. But may be neck of one a tail of another
I'm not entirely sure they're all zebras, too far away
I'm not sure, but the one on its back looks like a young male, not much of a mane.
"wilderbeast" are in the background and may be something else. There's also some light coloured animals in the background
Too distant to be sure what they are, I'm saying zebra based on shape.
Although I clicked no animals present, I think that might be a bee shown in one frame
There's a very close blurred image that may be the mouth of a wilderbeast, or may be a brown satchel!
