Snapshot Serengeti Talk
Funny zebra popping its head in at frame 3
this one looks rather odd. It's as if we're looking at a twoheaded zebra.
#warthog
#hippo
#elephant family with young
#ostrich
3 resting #lions, including a collared one
#hyena
zebra eying the camera
#fire
a nice one, where the eland walks past the camera and you can see the lines on the flanks.
those are impalas I think with a young one.
lol, I can well believe that.
I'm learning. The greyish rump seems to be a giveaway, yes.
#bird, this one perched right in front of the camera
that was a hard one, because the other two close-by seemed young animals too. How did I come to forget a baby grant looks like a thomson.
wildebeests
2 young #baboons playing in the tree?
the grant in the back is doing some stretching. I think the third one is a young grant, not a thomson.
#vervetmonkeys
#guineafowl
#lion wandering through
herd of #elephants
this is a beautiful one, certainly when he moves closer.
A baby hartebeest... too cute
yup
2 #zebras hugging, while a #guineafowl pecks around their feet.
Was not sure but it looked like two #hyenas to me. ASG000qie7 shows impalas running for their lives a minute later.
#elephant trying to be a tree
I guessed a jackal for this one.
3 #lions resting, 2 female, 1 male
#warthog eyeing 2 thomsons
#lion
#lions
#lion, male, frame 3 marvelous
#hyena sniffing out the spot where lions slept the previous day
#lion, collared
it's a long series of 3 lions, a collared female, uncollared female and a male, runs from ASG000omvi until ASG000omws
#lion, male
and a #lion sleeping at the bottom left
#baby grant approaching the camera unsteadily
#cheetah, check out frame 3
nice shot of a #lion
#jackal
Guessed #lion for this one. A day earlier a hyena was here. Since they are competition, this cat might have been sniffing for hyena trail.
#dikdik
Marked it as a striped hyena. Not sure. Was a doglike animals with a short bushy tail. Looking closer its pelt seemed to have stripes.
#reedbuck
male #ostrich
#cheetah
#giraffe
a #human!
#impala
these are #impala no?
It seems too tall and with those ears, I'd go for a reedbuck instead.
awesome picture of a #dikdik
Is that a young thomson's hiding in the brush?
#topi are easily recognizable from up close: red and dark brown coat, and the brown seems to be painted over the red in giant blobs/patches
the buffalo have a straighter back, the wildebeest have a hump
#warthog ... he's hoveling around there for several pictures, such as ASG000ql5l
#buffalo with a broken horn
background herd is mostly zebra. The dark individuals are most likely wildebeest
reedbuck you usually see in night, dawn or dusk pics. Again I'd go for impalas here: females no horns, no tomson stripe, larger than grants
wildebeest, yes
hartebeest?
look like impalase: tallish, white belly, sandy back, but intermediate white-sandy belt, and black stripes on their buttocks and little tail
think it's a hartebeest
#aardvark
#lion who lazied around for an hour at least
those are probably 2 zebra
3 #ostrich one the move
one seemed to have a long tail, and a face... but those guinea fowl like to fool me
if it's blue and with that grass, not flying very high, I'd go for a guinea fowl
left zebra scratching head against a tree
they even managed to smudge his stripes 😮
peekaboo, #cheetah, curiosity...
sniffy-sniff in frame 3 by a #cheetah
nice profile in frame 3 of #elephant
frame 1 isn't a profile of the head, but in 2/3. Still you can see that thomson has 2 horns in frame 1. Frame 2 & 3 are profile
2 #babies in the center of the group of grazing zebras. One is resting, and right behind it another is touching noses with its mother.
the horns?
nice group shot of #impala
#heyna
seems like they're looking for somethng in the bushes of that rock path
Must be a zebra's tail then. tnx for clarifying that.
great shot of #elephant eating
yeah, I've tried it often and I get 0 results on the search
Is this a family of vervet monkeys?
how do you find those photos. I try searching pics with a letter lower or higher and search gives me nada.
I thought it would be to small to be a jackal
ain't that male cute belly up.
Only guess I could come up with this was a wildcat with prey in its mouth
Good clear view on a #warthog head
Some weasel like animal with a bushy tail at the bottom. I ended up going with the guess of a bat-eared fox
or wildebeests
a #hartebeest
Beautiful pics of 3 #warthogs
Not sure what that is. Marked it as a guineafowl
also note the black marking of tail and rump, so you're probably right.
a family of #eleaphants
nice clear pic of #guineafowl
#hippo. Nice picture!
Perhaps a yearling or so?
2 #cheetahs in this picture I think. Only have the tails to go by.
I'd think a hyena
yup, #giraffe.
it might be an owl imo
#wildebeests in a hurry. Escaping something?
I see nothing there
I'd agree.
I think those are buds from the grass waving, but the buds reach the same height as near horizon behind it.
I'd guess a wildebeest for this one.
I think those birds are flies pestering the giraffe
family of #warthogs
Spotted #hyena?
Probably wildebeests
I only see grass waving
I would guess a wildebeest
thos are 3 wildebeests 2 resting, 1 standing
spotted #hyena
the inside of a #car
I'd guess a #wildebeest here too
I guessed a #lion for this one because of the round ears curling a bit. Certainly a big cat because of size head to body and the whiskers
I only see grass?
the others, beside the #zebra, are #wildebeests: humped, size horse, lanky, brown-grey, long black swishing tails, horns, hippie hair, beard
Frame 3 reveals this male #impala fighting another one.
Looks like this #zebra survived a predator attack in the past. It's got several scars on the rump and hindleg.
is that a #guineafowl?
#elephant seems interested in that treelog
two #topis seem to want to go on the run, simultaneously
looks like #guineafowl
I'd guess #buffalo
Beautiful clear shot of a spotted #hyena seemingly making its move on one of the wildebeests grazing further away.
Definitely a large #cat. I gambled on a lioness, but could be a leapord or cheetah as well. Looks like some modern impressionist painting.
beautiful shot of a #giraffe
#elephant
a kori bustard?
Two low small and round looking animals. No idea what it is.
#warthog peekaboo in frame 3
I'd go for a topi here... because of the horns
baby #zebra
or a bird tail?
who's doing some sensual jiggling dance
is that a young giraffe?
Hehe. It seems like all the #wildebeests and #zebras are looking at this guy wondering what he's doing: evening stretching!
2 #giraffes
2 #koribustards
Not sure... but instead of wildebeest, I thought rhinoceros with this one
#lion, and somehow instantly thought a male one. No idea why really.
#elephants
Yay!
tnx for this sequence. With the tail of the left individual it is more clear.
I would agree
in frame 3 the second young grant's #gazelle makes a cute little jump
tnx!
tnx
#hare same nighttime passing as ASG000si59, but 16 days earlier.
tnx. Did not consider it because it seemed to be furry, and had the hind proportions of a housecat (a fat one though)
tnx for the info. So next time, should I put resting? I did think... they're going along for the ride as a pun
I identified them as 2 #birds (other) eating
grazing #hyppos
are these 2 #buffalo having a night brawl?
a young baby #zebra with its mom.
mooning #zebra
tail of a #cheetah?
#wildcat?
Beautiful shot of the sky and serengeti as the #wildebeest graze
Cheetah?
Went for #hartebeest, because of the tan color. Definitely a female!
That's definitely a #hyena
went for #hyena because of the tail, but it could be a cheetah.
#elephants: there are two more behind the trees (left)
Nice shot of a #giraffe
What a #giraffe can't do with their long legs
They have something stately or regal in their pose, don't they?
to the right of the tree: is that a mongoose nodding his head?
#lions sleeping
A young #wildebeest with his mom
#hartebeest, a beauty in frame 3, nice contrast against the sky
frame 3 of this #hartebeest makes a beautiful pic in that golden light of the Serengeti
An #elephant family passing by. @ 3 the young one makes a move to trumpet
This #hartebeest seems to be loved by #flies
That #guineafowl luckily was not trampled by the giant feet of the #elephant
Could be a beetle. Seems too large for a humblebee.
my first #hare. I've seen that branch so often with nothing to see. But this time, a definite hare
a real wild #wildebeest.
First #leopard I've come across, and clear picture too!
The zebra in the background, seen through the spiderweb... nice picture
I had classified it as bird (other). Those guinea fowl are deceptive birds at times, sometimes appearing to be a small mammal.
but could be hartebeest, yes
I think that would be an eland.
Very nice one, especially frame 3 when the second cheetah appears to hunt what's in the far right.
2 Guinea fowl
Seems like a buffalo eating to me.
At first I thought it was a hare, but it's night animal. In 3 another animal approached (right corner). What seems ears, could be a wing.
Buffaloes on the run
Then it's an animal with a long, smooth horn
resting Warthog?
in 2 appears a dragonfly, but no insect options
Appeared like a horn, but there were no ridges, so decided it must be some elongated leaf. And thus nothing to see.
Close... It was only because I could not see anything black that I went for the grant's though yes it looked like a small animal. Tnx.
Funny one: a thomson scratching it's head I suppose from the stance of the leg to the head
I guessed it right then.
Horned animals, and I'd go for wilderbeest
Stumped by this one: the fur suggested doglike to me, but found no fit, so eventually went with a Grant's gazelle
With that colouring and hairtype, I'd guess a wilderbeest
The ears and the tuft in between the ears seem more like a hyena
Yup, looks like a bird to me... hawklike
